Anyone replaced blown OEM shocks with lowering springs?

What did everyone used as a replacement?

and what can handle NYC roads (a lot of effed up roads)?

any performance aftermarket shocks?

Got my Tokicos off of ebay for $380 shipped, absolutely love them, they take away from the ride quality a bit, but handling is amazing even with factory sways and springs.
