In short, are you all still happy with your handling now? Understeering means that you have to turn the wheel further to get the same amount of cornering? How about bumpy conditions - does the car suspension stiffen when you do these changes or does it mostly alter how the car turns? Is there ANY increase in road noise - this is a pet peave of mine?

Thanks for the update!

Still absolutely love the handling. It probably understeers less now than when it was EX stock. The ride isn't bumpier from the sway bars. You're changing the bars not the springs. It will get bumpier with the upsized tires, definitely. No change in noise versus stock from the sways.

You will notice more noise from the high perfromance upsized tires. I got the Avon M550, which per the tire rack are supposed to be really quiet and comfortable. Maybe, but going to the 17-inch 45-series low profile tire made for a bumpier, noisier ride than the stock Turanzas. Worth it for what you get back in increased grip and handling.

In short, the bars are all good and shouldn't irritate your pet peeve. The upsized tires & wheels probably will.

I agree with iVtec. I've had the rear on for 4 months and the front for several weeks. The handling is still great, and the only really noticeable difference in ride is that the car feels more composed at high speeds.

Ok great! The parts are on the way and I will give a report once I get them on too. These forums have added a nice extra dimenstion to being an 8th Gen owner and I am sure glad I found them.

Yeah, I expect the tires to be a possible source of more noise, but the Generals were rated very highly for low noise, so ... you can only do so much! I can always crank the sound system up another notch.

Thanks guys.

What about just rear?

But what about just changing rear with stock front, then
specifically what happened after changing front ?
To me the car is very neutral and I am only seeking to reduce body roll.

Having both bars does just that, keeps the neutral characteristics and greatly reduces body roll.

I need some clarification. I am installing the rear bar on my Civic today. I have the Brackets, Bushings and Bar. Is there anything else that I am missing?

It apperas that you will need the L-shaped bracket that the bushing holders bolt into. The Si bushing holders are bigger than the EX bushing holders, and will not bolt into the EX L-shaped bracket. Also, the bolt-washers are different (they're longer).

Rear sway bar upgrade:
52300-SVB-A01 SPRING, RR. STABILIZER 1 x $34.55
52306-SVB-A01 BUSH, STABILIZER HOLDER 2 x $1.39
52308-SVB-A01 HOLDER, STABILIZER BUSH 2 x $2.04
52317-SVB-A01 BRACKET, R. RR. STABILIZER 1 x $3.02
52318-SVB-A01 BRACKET, L. RR. STABILIZER 1 x $3.02
93401-10020-08 BOLT-WASHER (10X20) 4 x $0.93

This is what I have right now:
52300-svb-A01
52306-svb-A01
52317/52318

It is my understanding that the holder is not necessary (they are all the same) and the 4 bolt washers are all the same.

You understand incorrectly. The Si holders are bigger and beefier than the EX/LX holders. The bolts are longer. I compared them side by side when I installed them.

Also, the EX holders will not fit into the Si brackets. The Si holders are longer than the EX holders, so the space between the bolt holes is longer.

You might be able to get by using the EX holders, bushings and brackets and taking a dremel to make the bushing hole larger. I wouldn't recommend that, since the Si hardware is more reinforced to handle the additional strain from the Si parts.

You do not need a new holder to do this swap. The 52308-SNA-A01 holder is the same for all Civics.
So I guess this is wrong? Man that sucks. Now I have to wait another week

Someone else on this thread informed me that the FRONT holders are the same for the EX and Si sway bars. That might be the source of confusion.

Welp,

Parts in and instal time about 2 hours for both front and rear... that includes getting the rear sway on backwards and wondering why it didn't line up :)

The front HOLDERS are the same - but the rubber bushings are different - the ex is 25.4mm and the si is 28mm. Naturally I was shipped three of the rear bushings and one of the front lol - but i reemed out one of the 25.4 with a dremel until I can get a new one in the right size shipped.... shouldn'tbe long.

Anyhow, about to hit the road. The new rims and tires won't be in till October but lets see how it rolls now!

Agreed! (it sucks when an animated banana dances better than you!)

This trick works as advertised! I have a bit of a hard time specifically describing what has changed, but overall it just feels better.

I think of the handling scale as going from a big floaty old school cadillac to the brutally direct-connect go-carts I had as a kid. This mod moves you a step or two down the go-cart side of the scale. It feels more solid, more poised and has a firmer stance on the road.

So far I really don't notice any negatives at all. Keep in mind, this is my daily driver and I won't race in any way. It is also my baby (my first new car after 20 years of boring company vehicles - whatever GM had the worst sales the previous year) and I treat her pretty well. I just want a little tighter feel and at high speeds sespecially, this is a nice little improvement with a small price tag.

Thanks guys (and gals!)

LEss

Well, I did the install last night. Like iVTEC posted, you need every part on that list. I had all parts needed except the bolts which luckily my dealer had in stock . Install was easy, about 30 min. with distractions. As for the ride, WOW, is all I can say. It's a bit stiffer, but the car know feels more planted to the ground. I can't wait to do the front sway bar.

I'm running into this problem too. A lot of online parts dealers won't ship to Canada, and the Canadian parts sites I've found are useless. I'm thinking of getting them from my dealer in the next little while. It'll cost a little more this way but it seems to be my only choice at this moment.

Can you tell me how much it costs if you do decide to get it in Canada? I would appreciate the info.

Thanks.

I am also consdering to buy both front & real sway bar.
I am thinking to buy them form http://www.collegehillshonda.com since https://www.hondapartsdeals.com does not ship to Canada.
BTW, I can not find the parts price from www.collegehillshonda.com. Is it just me or is collegehonda's part site not working?
If there is price difference, hopely, our sponsor can match the price:).
Call www.collegehillshonda.com & ask them for quotes :)
Hope it helps

Hi, i noticed that the parts from the image you attached and the parts from the first page for the FRONT sway bar are differnt.

Is this because the sedan and coupe uses differnt parts for the front sway bar ?

Thanks.
