Thanks for adding to the discussion and the friendly "heads up". Well, I guess we'll see what the long-term durability is. In my case, since I don't auto-x or race, I don't imagine it being an issue.

On the ClubRSX forum, owners of the Progress rear sway would post about snapping their end links all the time and needing to upgrade to Hotchkis end links. I had a Progress rear sway in for over three years and never had a problem. I guess I don't drive as aggressively as some.

As mentioned, it is solid -compared to the hollow Ø24.2mm bar on the 4DR and Ø25.4mm bar on the base 2DR (also hollow). The Si lower arms have a gusset on the compliance bush collar, and a much thicker bracket for the stabi link to mount to.

Honda wouldn't make an Si exclusive lower arm if it wasn't necessary for durability.

I don't mean to complicate a clever mod idea, just a friendly 'heads up' for those considering it.

good to know will ordering the front soon

Would this work for an LX sedan also?

I just cross referenced the EX and LX front and rear sway bars on hondapartsdeals.com. They are the same. Therefore, upgrading the LX front and rear sways to the Si sways should work the same.

Parts needed:
Front sway bar upgrade:
51300-SVB-A02 SPRING, FR. STABILIZER 1 x $67.47
51306-SVB-A01 BUSH, FR. STABILIZER HOLDER 2 x $1.44

Rear sway bar upgrade:
52300-SVB-A01 SPRING, RR. STABILIZER 1 x $34.55
52306-SVB-A01 BUSH, STABILIZER HOLDER 2 x $1.39
52308-SVB-A01 HOLDER, STABILIZER BUSH 2 x $2.04
52317-SVB-A01 BRACKET, R. RR. STABILIZER 1 x $3.02
52318-SVB-A01 BRACKET, L. RR. STABILIZER 1 x $3.02
93401-10020-08 BOLT-WASHER (10X20) 4 x $0.93

Good luck!

Although I've never bought anything from them, I'd suggest purchasing the parts from http://www.collegehillshonda.com/ if only to support one of the sponsors of this site.

I can neither recommend for or against them from personal experience.

hey,
does 51300-SVB-A02 SPRING, FR. STABILIZER 1 x $67.47 means the sway bar? stabilizer = bar?

SWRT,

Honda93 here, you and I seem to be a little more knowledgable regarding suspension topics...

I knew the Si had a heavier duty front LCA (and hub assembly), but I added the Si front bar to help in SCCA H Stock autocross competition. I was under the impression that the beefed up components was partly for the increase in weight over the nose of the car (relative to the LX or EX) but more likely due to the LSD and the fact that Honda probably realized that most Si's will be drag raced rather than autocrossed.

Since front bars and hardware are free in Stock class competition, I will keep an eye on the endlinks and I may have to use a custom heim-joint setup should something happen.

Anthony "Mario" Crea

Four autocrosses (most recently a National Tour) on and I am OK (knock wood).

Bump. I just ordered all those parts and I used a $10-off coupon with hondapartsdeals.com "honda-tech10" sweet!

BTW - Total cost with 3-Day Select shipping was $145.63.

What's the trick to getting those bolts off. They keep spinning?

I take it you're installing the front and rear sways right now. Tell us what you think after you're done! I'm curious to hear what other people's experiences are with the front/rear combo.

iVTEC, what do you think about this: On the left (when standing behind the car) rear bracket. One of the new bolts wouldn't tighten down all the way. I backed it out and there was one bit of thread that was bent. So i put it into a different spot and it was tough to thread completely. I took the replacement bolt and put it into the trouble hole. Again, it wouldn't tighten down all the way. There is a little bit of play with the washer. I put a herculean push on that thing. I'm almost afraid to try backing it out.

Do you think it will be ok? We are talking about less than 1/8th, maybe 1/16th or 1/32nd of a gap. But enough for the washer to move a little.

Well, I backed out the bolt and it's worse than the first.

What do you know!?! I got back down there with my 3yr old son and I just didn't care anymore I was just happy to be working with him, and that bent bolt went in just like the others. It's tightened perfectly. WOOT!
