Has ne one bought a full coil lover set from tein

i just got a brand new set of Tein Super Street w/ EDFC control, has any one attempted to install coil over in their car beside regular coils. I know the back should be really easy and the front might take longer but i just got them so i will be taking pics of the setup and mounting the EDFC control.

Definitely keep us posted on how it works out. I've looked into the same set up and my shop told me it will take a while longer to install the front. That's all they said. I'm a little apprehensive right now. The price is so HIGH^^^.

i have the tein SS + EDFC..
i sat and watched the shop do it...
it takes the same amount of time to do the front as it does to do the back...
if u count removing the plastic pannel below the windscreen into the time it will take to do the front, just add another 10 mins or so....i was a easy.

mounting the EDFC onto the struts is easy also, just make sure they pass the wires away from heated areas.

I'd also suggest u get them installed by a tein dealer...just incase something was to happen to it withing the specified warranty time etc. etc.

pics here. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2216565

1285 sounds about right...the edfc is 350 but u'll find it for a little less...and i mean a little less.
optionsauto.com has them for 1283 if u want to save 2 dollars

i'd come to meet u and hang out...but i bet u'd have a lot more fun if u came south instead of me coming north...south florida ftw.

installing suspension is easy. but there are drawbacks. i work for toyota, and its easy when you have a shop, a lift, air tools, spring compressors and such. ive installed coilovers in a friends garage and it blows. with no air tools, just hand tools, jack/jack stands. if u had a friend to help, shouldnt take that long.

I just got my SS's installed... the edfc motors are all mounted but I havent ran all the cables for the edfc control. I think I dropped it a little too much... There is some definate stress on the front sway bar!

Wheels should be here next week with the camber parts, along with the progressive rear sway bar.
wish i could find a bigger stronger front. Sheeesh

How does EDFC works? I thought to adjust the stiffness of the dampers, all you need to do is to change the settings on the damper itself through a knob and not through a device.

So if I were to get the SS and if I want EDFC, I would need to purchase a separate unit?

I think I figured it out...

So is it easy to change the settings yourself without the EDFC?

You can do it but it isn't necessarily easy. Take a look in your trunk. My del Sol was a no brainer for changing the damping force. This car is a PIA. The EDFC is good for lazy people like me. Just push a button and you're there. Plus, it has 3 presets. I only wish that other companies had this sort of set up.

Can the EDFC be converted to work with other applications? OR - are there other EDFC-like systems out there?

( Im either going for the Tein flex or the Mugen suspension ... Id love to have this kind of thing on the mugen but Im doubting its possible, right? )

I do not know the answer to that question. I've often wondered this myself because there is another set of coilovers I've been eyeballing. I like the EDFC set up though. I'll keep my eye open for an answer to it but if anyone else knows, your input will be greatly appreciated.
