Glad to see he learned from his mistakes.

So......is the final conclusion that the hfp and koni reds are simliar?
And that the only difference between the HFP and Redshift setup, would be the difference in the drop?

That is what I am getting from this. Though only in the Koni red version. If it is the yellow version it is apparently far superior and no competition in track use.

Even with this information I am having trouble deciding. I have yet to bring my Si to any auto-crossing events. I have yet to upgrade my wheels/tires. I like the look of the lowered Eibach springs vs HFP and I think that is what is going to sell me on them. That, and my fear of just putting springs on my car throwing me off of alignment.

Another cost I have to look at now though is if I get the Koni's I need to get camber arms. With the HFP it is not the case.

600 vs 1000... what to do, what to do.

This thread is making it hard for me to decide. I think I would rather have the reds since I have the comptech springs, but I'm still not sure.

^our cars come with like -0.5 from the factory... after installing the HFP u will have aroun -1.5 camber... Remember when u lower the car now matter how low u will affect the camber in the back...

The factory spec for the rear camber is actually -0.5 to -2.3... Trust me these numbers are right I just look at my factory spec from my last alignment... I was in that -2.0 is acceptable to honda...

I really look forward to benefiting from a camber kit then. How have I read so many threads on this forum, looked at so many pictures, and never heard that -2.0 was an acceptable read camber from Honda.

Koni's, here I come!

I thought honda was changing the rear on the 08's to get rid of some of the negative camber. ??

^I have an 08 FA5 and its still the same... I gone thru 4suspension already on my FA5... My car right now has -2.0 on the driver rear and -1.4 on the passenger rear and they told me thats acceptable...

The alingment shop was to charge me for adjusting the rear camber... so I rather adjust them myself this weeken and then take back for another free alignment... OHH I have the lifetime free alignment...

The Yellows are the best street/track dampers. Redshift is making a race damper that will distroy the yellows at the track but be rough on the streets.

I had koni reds on my teg an the ride was better than stock and they handled better than stock too. If you are going to do little to no tracking, the Reds are going to be perfect. If you want to bring a sharper knife to the canyons at a small expense of ride quality with the ability to go auto x or a track day, get the Yellows. The Yellows are adjustable so you have a better chance of finding a ride that you like.

As far as camber goes, being able to adjust camber helps a lot in terms of handling. You would not believe the difference -1.5 degrees up front does to the handling of the car. Most people get camber kits to get rid of negative camber for tire wear, even Honda did it to the rear of the Civic for 08. The thing is, if you drive with spirit on a weekly basis, that should be enough to even out the tire wear. I run -1.75ish front and rear and have even tire wear after 8000 miles because I drive with spirit.

First - Tein SS
Now - Tein Flex
Soon - Redshift DA Konis with my choice of spring rates. Been waiting forever and a day for them, but I put money down when they were just an idea in Chris' head so I half expected it.

They aren't available now? It says they're available on their website. Or are you waiting for a direct bolt on?

Waiting on the front upper mount to come in. To my knowledge, only 3 people have ordered the DA konis and that they are made to order. Could be wrong on that last part though.

I have Sportlines now with the stock dampers. Im not really going to be doing track anytime soon, but i do like my car to handle well as i like to do some "spirited" driving now and then in some twisties. Would I be happier with the Red's or the Yellow's? Also, what is the ride quality of both going to be compared to the sportlines with the stock dampers I have now just daily driving? I mean, I don't want to beat the crap out of myself over every little bump and pothole in the road for day to day. It makes for a somewhat bumpy ride now as it is.
