Question regarding rear SPC camber arms

Hola.

Just received my Eibach Sportlines and SPC front camber bolts and SPC rear camber arms from Corsport today (Tai and Remy = teh ownage). Browsed through everything, pretty self-explanatory.

Then I noticed something. I kind of pieced everything together in a mock-up and found that the nut for the bolt goes on easy until the top of the nut reaches the end of the bolt, at which point it becomes difficult to turn (by hand mind you). Removed it and the top thread of the bolt looked slightly worn (from the nut). I checked the other arms bolt+nut and it was the same.

I'm a little concerned that tightening this nut on with a socket, it will go on just fine, but will wear the threads on the bolt a bit. For those that installed this same kit, did you find your nut and bolt to be the same? Is it normal?

Since it is suspension, I figured better safe than sorry.

I have the Eibach Pro-kit springs with the SPC rear camber arms, and the nuts are NOT nylock or whatever you want to call them. Don't know if that helps or not, but sounds like you have either stripped threads on the bolt or nut

Definitely not a plastic ring locknut. It's all metal.

Bolts are fine, it's the nuts. Maybe i'll try contacting SPC.

Any good auto parts store should have the nuts, maybe just call SPC and get the size and pitch

That is normal. If you take out one of the stock nuts anywhere on your existing suspension, it looks exactly the same as your SPC nuts. I think that this is done on purpose so that it keeps the bolt in place and prevents it from coming loose over time.

When I saw that for the 1st time, I was thinking about the same thing.

Ah so it is normal then?

I kind of wondered if it was. Because it would only affect the threads the nut is not on when it's tightened.

Much <3

^^It is normal; the nuts are grade 9 lock nuts.

Just installed the kit and the Sportlines. Nuts were fine, no damage to the bolts at all. That wretched kit was a royal pain to put on though. Not sure how it is with the stock exhaust or other exhausts, but with my buddy club, I had to remove the axle-back part to get the bolts in.

Looks awesome though lol
