My Official Suspension Upgrade Info and Pics Thread

I recently started two threads concerning the HFP Si suspension kit and the Progress rear sway bar. I've never had a car with a lowered suspension nor have I ever put new suspension parts on a car. In other words, I'm a noob at suspension. I don't want to pay the dealership or anyone else to install it. Plus, I want the satisfaction of knowing I did it myself.

I decided to start this thread for others who might be in the same position as myself and describe the pitfalls that are going to go along with my first suspension install. I'll show some pics including before and after pics. Also, I'll give a review of the whole package.

The HFP suspension kit came in today. The Progress rear sway bar is supposed to arrive tomorrow. My plan is to start installing them early Saturday morning and hopefully finish by a reasonable time. I'll have a couple people helping me.

cool beans yo!! im installing my hfp suspension and exhaust this saturday as well, me and my cousin (hes the mechanic) are gonna tackle this mission.

should be an easy install as you won't need to use a spring compressor
and would be a direct swap for the front.

the kit comes with nice instructions too, looking at collegehillhonda's site.

I've swapped the springs twice on my si, it's pretty much cake....you'll have no problem

Any chance there is any info on the box or instruction manual about who made the components for Honda. Showa or Mugen maybe?

It says they are made in Japan. That's all I know. If Mugen made them, they would probably be double or triple the price.

That's all part of the plan. I have a good side picture from in front of my parents' house and I'm going to take another picture in exactly the same spot. I'll definitely write a performance review as well. Too bad I won't be doing any more mountain driving until September or I could really write a great review.

I just visited a mechanic I know and he is going to let me use his lift. My brother and nephew have agreed to help me with the install. My brother has plenty of experience messing with cars but I plan to do quite a bit of the install myself. Everything is on for Saturday morning!
