Ground Control's installed today on my EX

I live in Sacramento, and Ground-Control's main office and shop is up in the foothills of El Dorado Hills, which is within the greater Sacramento area. Anyway, a few days ago I inquired again as to when they were going to release a kit for the FG's, and the owner replied that if I was willing to donate my car for the day, then they would do the final test fit on my ride, then let me have the kit for free, already installed of course. I couldn't pass it up.

The car is very low now, the front has no gap at all, and the rear is tucking. The back is not lower than the front, it just appears that way because the front fenders have a higher wheel opening than the rear. I might raise the back slightly if it starts to bother me. Regardless, it rides great and looks good too.

Ground-Control staff were very nice while they did the install and took their various measurements. I waited for a while, but totally worth it to me. The kits should be up for sale very soon---Brian

Too cool. Thanks for being the Guniea Pig. I think I'm going to go drive down to GReddy on Friday and see if they have any mercy for us regular road warriors. Lord knows what they've done to that car Honda gave them.

The Internet and Dial-up. What a great thing!

1983
"On January 1st, every machine connected to ARPANET had to use TCP/IP. TCP/IP became the core Internet protocol and replaced NCP entirely.

The University of Wisconsin created Domain Name System (DNS). This allowed packets to be directed to a domain name, which would be translated by the server database into the corresponding IP number. This made it much easier for people to access other servers, because they no longer had to remember numbers."

Check out these interesting facts.

1983 on Wikipedia

# McDonald's introduces the McNugget
# The U.S Embassy is bombed in Beirut, killing 63 people.
# The immunosuppressant cyclosporine was approved by FDA, leading to a revolution in the field of transplantation.
# Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program launched in U.S.
# Microsoft Word is first released.
# Martin Luther King Day created
# United States invades Grenada

...AND # Metallica released their debut album Kill 'Em All.

I emailed the pics to El_ben last night. I tried to upload them here, but they were over the size limit for the site. I lowered to car a bit more in the front yesterday, and now it looks absolutely pefect, but tends to bottom out on the freeway. I heard an awful noise coming home last night, like metal getting hit which was probably my shock bottoming out. I'll try to be more careful or just raise it up a bit more all around. No rubbing though, which is what I expected since the guy with the Neuspeeds said his EX sedan rubbed over bumps with the stock tires (205/55/16). I would say the car is lowered overall about 2" to 2 1/4", the very tops of all four tires are tucked into the fender--Brian

^^ unless you have aftermarket dampers with high damp rate, that sounds
too low for street. great for static model though for show's and stuff. :)

Thanks for posting those el_ben, and thanks for the comment Emo. The car is lower in the front now, it looks great but might now be suitable for the street. I have to wait and see--Brian

God I cant wait to get rid of my Tiens (which are great) and get the GC's.

How much lower do they go F/R compared to your pic ?
Inch ? More ? Less?

Thank YOU.

The rear will go down another inch, the front has maybe 1/4 of an inch more, but right now my car sits with stock tires slightly tucked all around. It looks perfect, but I have to be very mindful of poorly paved roads or spots on the freeway. I can hear it hitting the bumpstops in the front sometimes.

I got lucky with this kit, if you look on the ground-control website, they want like $479 for the kit, plus you have to pay for install someplace else. I got the kit and install done at ground-control for free. I had Teins on my car before also, and they were not low enough, nor were they very stiff. This kit uses Eibach race springs, it handles significantly better. I'm a paycheck to paycheck kinda guy, and I was trying to save money for Nuespeeds for awhile, plus the install. I scored big time getting this for free--Brian
