Wheel spacers and HFP 18's question...

Hey guys...

I really want to keep my HFP 18's. I'm trying to keep the HFP look intact while adding little cosmetic tweaks blah blah blah and am very close to being done with my car inside and out (I/H/E, P2R spacer, Hondata, HFP kit, HFP 18's, Eibach prokit, little outside tweaks). The only thing bothering me is how far in my HFP 18's sit. Is there a safe way to add small wheel spacers to bring them a lil' more flush with my HFP kit? What is the BEST wheel spacer route to go (brand, kind or method of wheels spacers)? I'm dropped on Eibach Prokit so I'm not worried about rubbing...

Please only post if you have experience with this and not "dude, wheel spacers are bad" just because that's what you think... Thanks!

MY 19S ARE FLUSHED

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND SPACERS
I used to have 3mm spacers and the car was always slightly unaligned

3mm spacers isnt going to make a big dif in the looks department. I have them on the front only and you can barely tell. Mostlikely you will have to go with a 10mm spacer from H & R which will run $150 ish or so for a pair.

Hmmmm, yeah I think I'd only need them on the front since the back is fine but 10mm sound like a lot more than the 3mm that you have. Any downsides you can tell so far with your spacers? If the 3mm didn't make too much difference on your car looks wise, have you considered going with the 10mm? Any idea how much we need to make the HFP's flush on the front?

You'll need longer studs if you go 10mm. I have been considering spacers, 5mm... but i need to figure out if I need longer studs at 5mm. I've read that at 3mm, you won't need them. The key is to be able to get ATLEAST 6-7 full turns of the lug nuts on the wheel studs.

BTW - you should REALLY get spacers that are hub and wheel centric. It'll reduce the load on the lugs and prevent vibration issues.

Such as the HR? I'm not trying to skimp on cost for these as I want them to be quality if I go this route. Does HR offer 5mm? It is mainly the front that needs it right, the back is fine it seems, appearance wise.

According to H&R 6 and a half turns is whats recommended.I had to put spacer on with my gram lights and could only get 6 turns, but hopefully I'll be fine.

Did you see the before and after with your Grams or did you install the spacers when you put the wheels on? I'm curious if 5mm is noticeable...

Oh and I'm thinking about just going with the front as well, the back isn't really too bad...

6mm will not give you enought thread.... I had a pair of 6mm on my car when I had the Rays G-games and it did not allow for enough turns. Then again it might be diff for other wheels.

I dont know how much is needed for HFPs to sit flush as I have camber on my front wheels which creates more gap tp the fender at the top of the tire.

Wheel spacers will put extra stress on the wheel bearings just like a lower than stock offset will.

You can barely notice the difference when look at the front compared to the rear.

Also, adding a wider track in the front (thats what you are doing with wheel spacers) and not adding them to the back should help get better rotation out of the car.
