How long should brakes last?

I ask because my 11month old LX coupe with 13,200 miles has completely spent brakes. They are so shot its a danger to drive. It's going in for brakes tomorrow.
My commute to work is 15miles each way, I've only been working there since June. I'd say atleast half my miles come from highway commutes of 150miles or more, so I am not always gas/brake driving.

I would say I go sometimes brake late, but I'm not a completely sporty driver. I mean common on I bought the LX and with an automatic, none of my previous cars every had this problem I would get atleast 30k-40k miles from them.

I'm taking it in tomorrow, what are the chances of it getting done under warranty. I know brakes are "normal wear and tear" but this isn't normal to me, its completely abnormal, brakes should last much more than 13k miles.

i got 26000 miles on my si before, never done a brake pad change and it's barely at 3/4 of the pad life. thanks to the engine braking help. use the brake while still in gear, and don't put it in neutral until at least 20mph or less then put it in neutral to get a longer pad life.

My Si has 21500Kms, and according to the service I got last week, front brakes are at 65% and rear is 55%.

Sounds like you're using your brakes hard.
