Skunk2 Pro-S Coilovers on a NHBP FA5 ***Pics inside***

I just got my Pro-S from Skunk2 installed here are some quick pics

Quote:
How was the install for your buddy? I know when the first pro-c's were released there were some problems, but I think they fixed them. Did everything fit properly? Any noise issues? Thanks for making this thread, a bunch of us have been waiting for some feedback.
Install went very smooth for both the coilovers and the camber kit. Didn't run into any issues until we dropped the car from the lift. The rear was extremely bouncy and the front was stiff. We couldn't figure it out until we looked in the rear and saw there weren't any bump stops or anything stopping the strut go through the car, therefore the car was basically on all spring.

We looked in the boxes to see if there were anything we forgot to install. Couldn't find anything, I called Skunk2 and asked if they had a set there they can look at and see if I wasn't shipped some bushings. The washers were there, but they weren't stopping the strut from going through the trunk, see pic:

We were able to find some bushings, from a old set of Skunk2 coilovers, and used those while my salesperson at Skunk2 does some research, however it might be a while due to the fact that Skunk2 is out of the 06+ Civic Pro-S.

The fitment was like a glove minus the missing bushings, there is no noise from the suspension, the factory suspension "popping" sound is gone.

Quote:
exactly how adjustable are the skunk2? I'm definitely gonna be dropin my civic but I kno that I wouldn't be able to put up with the rubbing, any suggestions? thanks!
As for the adjustability, if you are familiar with a coilover set up, then you know you can adjust the height using the two bolt looking things at the bottom of the spring for the front and the top for the rear springs. In the picture below you can manually adjust the height by turning the two rings in black: turning left makes the springs sit lower, turning right makes the springs sit higher
Front set up:

Rear set up:

If you have any other questions, please feel free to post here or use IM.

The ride, like I said before is a little stiffer than factory, but that's due to the ride height I'm at, if you were to raise the front and the rear, then it would be as close to factory.

All in all, the Pro-S is a great mid level product at an entry level price point.

Also, don't forget the rear camber kit:

I measure the stock camber arm between the mounting holes and used that as a starting point with the adjustable one from Skunk2 and extending the mounting point by about a 1/4" and the camber now is perfect. Front camber is fine w/o a camber kit.

I also did not need an alignment after lowering the car, but remember each car for whatever reason is different.

Sorry for these blurry pics, they were from my cell phone.

Thanks for the comments and I'm here helping out the 8th gen owners.

Hope ya'll enjoy!!!!

LOL, the only time I hear rubbing is when I'm turning and there's a rise in the road. Other than that, no rubbing issues. Thanks for the feedback though. My DC2 sits a little lower than the FA5 does right now as well.

Skunk2 is looking into it. They aren't sure if they were suppose to come with them or not. I'll keep ya'll up dated though. As of now, we used the bump stops off an old set old Skunk2 coilovers.

True, but I do need the rear a little higher so when I put stuff in the trunk or have passengers it levels out and I don't bottom out.
Also my driveway slants in the middle so it makes it look off as well.

The front still has about another 3/4" -1/2" of lowering the rear is about an inch to 1.5" of lowering.

Although your camber is fine.. changing the suspension around set your toe off. You still need to go get an alignment to dial down the toe. Toe wears tires worse than camber.

Yeah, true. I'll get the alignment once I settle on the height and the springs settle too.

What do you mean? The only issue I had was that they were missing the bump stops.
