Not sure why they don't come, but my guess is because of this separation between racing tuners and street/home/do-it-yourselfer tuners. |

![]() I'm using the stock rubber piece at the bottom of the spring. It looks a cone shape rubber piece. |

![]() You see the slight flare out just below the threads, put the stock washer there first, then insert strut through trunk, then the Skunk2 washers and finally the nut. |

My name is Robert; I'm one of the Senior Salesmen @ Skunk2. Albert @ Zero Hour Motorsports was the first person to bring this situation to "my" attention and I've been working on a formal solution ever since.
I wanted to share with you all that we (Skunk2) don’t expect our customers to have to "Make" things work or fix our problems, so... for those of you that have been persistent enough to make these work Right now Skunk2 does not have the parts needed to make this install go smoothly so I'm going to borrow a pictures used earlier in this thread and ask you to follow his lead. Temporary Solution: Drill out the dimple in the collar found on the OEM rear shock and transfer the collar and washer below it over to the Skunk2 shock assembly. I call this a temporary solution because future products wont have this problem... there is nothing wrong w/ this fix and should be good for the life of the product.

As stated above, they are currently working on a solution, but no eta on a resolution. Thus the temporary solution was given. If you don't want to drill out your stock stuff, then you can go to the hardware store and get a metal washer that will fit just big enough around the threads but not big enough to fit around the flare out.

you also go by the actual writing on the spring itself. you want to be able to read it while it is on the car.
a heads up for everybody wanting to do this, the stock upper pillowball mount is not on snug when you take the front struts off. the front right came off with the stock one and i lost all the little bearings (but i found them all!!!) but be very careful because it is very stressful if you do indeed lose them. |
