Easy as cake

Install in the reverse steps.

Illmaticone,

front's are 3 bolts under the hood and 2 bolts in the wheel housing
I had pushed down on the rear arm, but I wasnt pushing while trying to get the spring out. Idk, using the spring compressor really wasnt that much more difficult. My biggest issues with the rear was putting it together correctly, witch was my fault all together for not reading instructions/paying attention. First time I put it together I had everything in, and forgot to put the stock bushing on the shock. So I took everything out, put the bushing in, then I reinstalled everything only to see that I had bolted the camber kit on for the negitive camber setting. So I took it apart and re did it. After that it was simple. The other side probibly only took me 15 min to put on.

i used the boot, but i cut it just to have the spring mount part. because with out it when i press down the strut by hand you hear the spring click. seems like the diameter is larger on the spring than on the top hat and sits loose. and i was afraid it would click... i saw pictures with it so i thought skunk2 didnt include it or something..

so now im not sure if i should take it off if you say i dont need it?

how are yours is there nothing on the top of the spring?

I cut the stock boot and put it on top of the spring. It did not fit like a glove, but it fit. I have no noise coming from the front struts, so Im sure it is fine. You should keep it on, I was told that it has to be there. Metal on metal is no good. Plus even if you dont need it it wont hurt to have it on, and the trouble of taking it all apart again would not be worth it.

I think there is some confusion in what i meant. There's the tophat which gets used in conjunction with the rubber bushing that kind of slides over the spring.

Then there's an OEM rubber boot and bumpstop that doesn't get used. Skunk2 provides us with new ones. here's a pic:

#1. gets used
#2. gets used
#3. not used (replaced by Skunk2)
#4. not used (replaced by Skunk2)

I did not use that part of the dust cover, but I did use the top part that fits on to the spring. I just cut it. Skunk2 did not supply me with somthing to replace it with.

Lol it is kind of hard to explain. The stock dust cover, #3 in your pic. It not only covers the shock, but it also wraps around the top of the spring so that the metal spring is not directly touching the metal top hat. Skunk2 did not supply any part to cover the spring to prevent it from directly touching the top hat. So I cut the stock dust cover to use it to cover the top of the Skunk2 spring.

ok....now i see what your saying...

Number 2 and number 3 in my pics are connected as one oem part.

The rubber portion that wraps around the top part of the spring (aka #2) is a tophat bushing. It can be cut away from #3 is what i was trying to say.

So i installed it. Toke so long to get that damn top hat off. we had to buy another set of wrenches, the kind that bends inward to hold the nut and losen it with the alen wrench. But installed the rears last night it was all good no sounds or anything. But readjusted it and every time i turn right I hear like knocking noise. We checked if everything was tighten it was. But the weird thing was every time we didnt have the jack on the bottom of the rotor holding the arm up the spring would be lose in it on the right side, but on left it didnt do that? any suggestions?
