Front dampner/spring question.

What is the correct way of removing the front spring from the shock?

Removal
1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), then turn on the windshield wipers. Turn the ignition switch off when the wipers are near the A-pillars.

2. Raise the front of the vehicle, and support it with safety stands in the proper locations.

3. Remove the front wheel.

4. Remove the wheel sensor harness clip (A) and the brake hose bracket (B) from the damper. Do not disconnect the wheel sensor connector.

5. Remove the damper pinch bolts (A) and self-locking nuts (B) from the damper.

6. Remove the service cap (A) and the lid (B).

7. Remove the three flange nuts (C) from the top of the damper.

NOTEamper springs are different, left and right. Mark the springs L and R before you continue.
Be careful not to damage the body.

8. Remove the damper assembly (A).

Thne insert the housing into a spring compressor and remove..

No..My bad, I suggest a spring compressor to remove springs. Most say its not needed, although its added security.

For 23 bucks why not...MACPHERSON STRUT COIL SPRING COMPRESSORS - JCWhitney Auto Parts

I have a spring compressor, just trying to figure out how to remove spring from dampner. I would imagine I compress spring on the outside, the remove bolt from top; slowly uncompress spring?

Yeah..Once off the car slowly uncompress the spring take the pressure off the top hat . MOST lowering springs dont need a compressor to install..

You need an offest wrench with a hole in the top.
The offest wrench goes around the nut.
An allen wrench goes in the shaft to keep it from spinning.
Then loosen the nut.
