Tein S-tech rubber peices

I put my s-techs on my car tuesday. I took off the brown rubber peices that go around the springs. I just heard that they are suppose to prevent noise when driving. I do experience some noise when driving slowly and going over bumps. Is there any truth to this claim that the rubber peices help with noise reduction.
