Quick suspension question!

Okay I ordered my springs and they should be here any day now, the question that I have is how should I wait for the alignment as I have both FR and RR camber kits? The only reason that I ask is cause I know that the springs are going to settle over the first week 1/2 or so. If I get an alignment directly after install is that going to defeat the purpose? I also got new rims and tires and would hate for them to start showing signs of uneven wear, I honestly feel that I will be good for a couple of days but nothing more than that. Thank you in advance for your ideas!

Why don't you just install the springs first. Use it for a week or so. So it could settle.
After that install your camber kits and get a alignment. So you don't have to waste that $100 or so on a extra alignment.

I guess that I could do that, seems like double the work though! What I was thinking was that I install everything; let it settle for a week then get an alignment since I would have everything off for the spring install. Or would that damage the camber kits?

You could do that. But after you put a camber kit, you're already messing with your alignment. You toe of the rear wheels are gonna be wack, camber uneven. Which could effect your car's handling. And could give your tires a uneven wear. Your car might be pulling to one side. Which is why everyone recommend you do an alignment ASAP.

What springs are you planning on getting?

I had a camber kit installed a few months before i installed my HFP kit. I waited about 5 days after installing the HFP kit and got an alignment. Everything worked well for me.

Red face

Okay I am getting confused now; I ordered Skunk2 springs, RR camber kit, and FR camber bolts. I have gotten mixed answers so I will rephrase the question. What process should I go with?

1. Install springs, camber kits, wait a couple days for springs to settle then get an alignment?

2. Install springs, wait a couple of days for them to settle, install camber kits, then get an alignment?

3. Install camber kit, install springs, wait for settle, then alignment?

4. Fuk it all to hell.

I know that I need an alignment, that is not my main concern right as it will get done as soon as springs settle in as I am not trying to pay for it twice, in what order if any do I install springs/camber kits?

Ya just install the camber kit while you install the springs. You are required to remove most of the camber components while installing springs so you might as well do the kit while you're at it

Install everything. Wait a few days to settle them in...alignment. Done.

Thread Jack......

Do the sprigs settle by driving the car or by the weight sitting on the springs?
The reason I ask, is because I plan on putting on the HFP but I only drive my car 2x a week. Should I drive it more when i install the hfp and then have it algned. Or can I install the hfp and let it sit in my garage for a week and then get the alignment done?

HFP doesnt really settle the way other springs do. it probably settles around 2mm. I waited about a week till i got an alignment done just to break the kit in a bit.
