HFP Install, few questions
After looking over the HFP install PDF, I'm actually thinking about giving it a try. I just have a few quick questions about it, though.
1) First and foremost, what is a torque wrench? And what is a KTC trim tool set? 2) In the 3rd step, it says not to allow the knuckle to rotate too far outward or you could unseat a CV joint. What exactly is the knuckle? 3) What's all the stuff in the trunk you have to remove to get to the suspension? I can't really follow along with the pics. and lastly 4) Anyone take pics of this while they were doing it? The front looks extremely easy and I'm 100% sure I could do that, but the back two are just confusing the crap out of me. I can follow along with a good amount of it, but a few points on it are just losing me. Here's a link to the PDF: http://www.collegehillshonda.com/ins...60-snx-100.pdf |

A torque wrench is a wrench that you set to a certain amount of feet/lbs. when you tighten a bolt to the set ft/lbs it will click to let you know what the bolt is torqued to.
Dont follow those directions. I installed my own suspension kit with a friend, and the coil over installation instructions in the DIY section. Just make sure you have the following things. Metric wrenches Ratchets with metric bits A breaker bar or heavy duty impact tools- VERY IMPORTANT! The longer the breaker bar the better Screwdriver (phillips and flat head) Torque wrench Jack/stands Strong muscles and a lot of patience Make sure you have at least one friend assist you. My HFP install was the first suspension work my friend and I had ever done on any vehicle, so we ran into some obstacles. Get started on it early in the day that way you can take your time, and take adequate breaks. It ended up taking my friend and I 10 hours to install it because we didnt have a breaker bar or impact tools. When we finally got a hold of a breaker bar, and help from my neighbor it was done in no time at all. |

You need to remove the trunk lining to get to the top nut on the rear dampers. This process is not too difficult. Just unscrew the tabs and pull.
Loosening the Front sway bar helped me get the front dampers in easier. I hope this helps you. Don't hesitate to pm me if you have other questions. I just did this last weekend. |

Alright thanks.
Most of my friends are away at college, the only ones left have no car enthusiasm and it would be weird if I asked them to. Family members are a no-go because the only person with any sort of mechanical experience (my dad) disaproves of me doing any sort of mods to the car. |
