Skunk2 Pro-S Coilovers : Pictures and Installation with Review

They just got here!! Hottest street coilover kit on the market. I literally just opened up the set for our FA5 and we got a good 4 extra for the shop. First overall opinion is that its the same coilover kit that has been out for the longest. Same quality and Im sure we will love it. We run a couple sets on our cars here.

Here are 2 quick pictures including one with the part # (ups kinda faded the box a bit) in case you guys want to look it up.

Installation has begun!!

That is the front setup. Went on with 0 issues. They are working on the rears now. First line of business is the bolt that goes on the top of the rear strut. We just reused the factory one there and it was fine. More pictures coming shortly.
Special thanks to Tony, Tom, Marco for hooking us up with these. We appreciate it much.

udumkid - with all respect, testing a "competition" coilover based on how it rides on the street isn't really worth saying they aren't worth it.

anything with over double stock spring rates is going to be harsher.

and these are the "street" version..

If you would spend over $1.5 k for coil overs would you:

A)make modifications to make them fit

or

B) expect them to fit with out modifying(sp) them

Also Skank2 has rush them out to the public with out proper fitment testing... And for DD they will not do......

I agree with you - but i guess we got unlucky, and they fixed the situation lol.

I disagree again though ( don't hate haha) . I use them for my DD and they are fine ( but if you live somewhere where the roads aren't that good - i can see the problem). But 12k/10k is stiff. If people aren't prepared you sacrifice some comfort, then they shouldn't be looking into a kit made for the track.

Sorry to jack OP thread.

But see thats the funny thing, they know about the problems, but they rather turn the other cheeck...one thing I will ask you... their is a vibration of the skunk2 muffler right>>?? and the fix is to cut the hangers about a inch of the exhaust.. even tho they know about this cheap solution they have not implemented the fix on the new exhaust..im I right or im I wrong?....

Also, the skunk2 cams have been known to tear shit apart on the K-series engines do to their design of the exhaust cam on their cams.... the exhaust cam over laps the intake cam, when this happens you get a chain belt slap/ and destroy the tensioner..and you know what the fix is >? a $150 adjustable cam by skank2

I've read that a lot of aftermarket cams break the chain tensioner, so its not just skunk2.

Sorry, i've never had a skunk2 exhaust on my car (chose to go LSD), although i have read that they had a slight hanger problem. I also thought i read a while ago that it was sorted..

NICE, I'm very interested in these.. I don't really care bout ride quality, i care about seeing how the brackets and longevity of the strut will last on an average 1.2 to 1.5 inch drop, nothing to insane.

These are the street version, so they are a little bit different than the pro'c. That is what the writeup and install is for.

^ i'm sure there will be some squeaks and rattles, as far as ride quality thats what you get when you have higher spring rates over stock, i'm focused on a nice coilover set from skunk2 and that price range is amazing.. Anyhow any updates sctuned?
