Knocking Noise From Rear Suspension (TEIN)

I installed TEIN basics last night. The back is making a knocking noise. Sounds like wood on wood inside the car. Outside the car it sounds likesome sort of contact between parts. I am going to take a look at it and possibly uninstall the rear coilovers, and reinstall them.

I am looking for suggestions on what to check first tomorrow. I don't want to spend all day down there looking for the source.

If anybody has experienced anything like this on any aftermarket suspension setup please chime in on what it was and how you fixed it.

You will save me lots of time and frustration and I will be greatly appreciative

If you took the brown rubber plastic stuff off from around the springs there is nothing you can do. If you left it on, you need to lube the hell out of rubber bushings where they touch tv springs. That will only work for a little while. Sorry. Teins suck. Welcome to the wonderful world of tein.

While I am rolling very slowly, maybe 10mph, no bumps in the road or anything, I hear a bump...bump...bump

So it has to be something unrelated because it isn't constant and is more noticeable at low speeds and does not require much bumps in the road at all.

Something has to be loose. Do you have an aftermarket exhaust? Mine hit the rear springs.

I have the same setup and mine dont have that problem. My front left makes some noise but a lot of people have said that teins make noise. But not saying that there isnt something wrong with yours though. Just make sure everything is tight even the bolts inside the trunk. Can you tell which side it is coming from.

also check to make sure your lug nuts are tight. I had a noise and thought it was the coilovers and ended up being that.

This made me LOL because that is exactly what it was. One loose lug nut. I knew - couldn't have overlooked the suspension because I spent so much time on it.

Please learn from us. You spend so much time and attention not to ruin your suspension, but you slip up on something as simple as a lug.

Thanks guys
