Question Where should I start? Here's a profile.

I've read the stickies, and I understand there are all kinds of factors. It's awful wet out, so our racing season really doesn't start until April, or even May. Track times can get expensive, so I don't have the luxury of tuning my suspension every day. So I'll lay out what I have, and what I have in mind. My idea is to field what I think I should get, and see what you guys will pick apart and weigh in on. Thanks a million. 2007 Si Sedan (FA5). Items marked with an asterisk (*), I need your informed opinions.

Profile: a daily driver who will be doing a few track days (Portland Int'l Raceway) and a few weekends auto-x (in Street Modified, it appears, unfortunately). Probably non-competitive, because I don't know where this will go.

Current mods:
-P2R spacer/gaskets
-Vibrant with High-flow cat.

Near future mods:
-Mugen GP wheels or Race Dynamics
-Goodyear F1s GS-D3 or ...? **
-HFP suspension *
-helmet *
-gloves *
-bring 10-year old? *

What I'm considering:
-camber kit front and rear: what settings should I start with? ***
-different suspension, if I'm 80% DD vs. track?
-sway bar(s)? *
-other?

Thanks a bunch!

Not a fan of the tires....
Gloves aren't really needed...
Start at say -1.5F and -1 rear..
HFP should be fine..
Maybee the LX front bar with the progress rear bar and play from there..

Bring the kid. Maybe it will create a common interest between the 2 of you. From what it sounds I don't think hes going to have to worry about it either. It's not like you are looking to drag race an F1 car that could go up in flames.

I would be careful about showing a kid a car that you use as the DD and making him realize its the same thing you race around in.

Yeah. But.

Are those prices for a single strut/spring?

So, SPC or Skunk?

Why in street mod?

You have something carbon fiber on your car? Or is the clutch/flywheel swapped out?

I think the age cutoff for SCCA events for passengers is 12 yrs old.

No, I think the P2R spacer and gaskets will move it up (if I read it correctly, and Greg is right, any mods between the TB and the engine will bump you to SM.) Supposedly, everyone seems to think here that the stock LSD will at least put us in STX (one class "down" right?)

I wonder though how a RedShift SC would perform in SM against the STis and EVOs here. You guys wanna sponsor me and find out?

I think SPC would be the rear camber arms to go for. Was it eugenekim.net who said the Skunks were loose after some Willow Springs racedays?

Well im not even concerned about all that national bs. Its not like I have a SC or a diff to even give me a chance to keep up *under my breath* or the driving skills to be within a minute on a 60 second course.

How the hell do you all put the power down on such tight courses in low gears?

Duh, yeah, no modifications past the engine inlet is allowed in ST-classes (inlet in our car is the throttle body).

Si goes to STX due to the LSD. That's where I hang out. I've been doing ok in it as long as the R32 doesn't show up.

Any AX gurus know if I can swap the LSD to a Quaife unit later on and remain in STX? I think yes, since STS cars can add a LSD and jump to STX without hitting Street Mod.
