That's inevitable. People are gonna be wieghing the importance of Koni quality & development vs. direct plug-n-play installation of other coilovers.

Chris,

Koni has all but given up on developing a direct-replacement strut. Anyone who wants to do Koni will be playing with inserts... KONIMAN said so himself a page or two ago.

How are you btw?

In light of these developments (or lack thereof), I may have Bilstein do my fronts as well... I still have my OEM LX struts in a box. I already have valving percentages in mind and they won't be crazy stiff like the custom rear Bilsteins I have, but they will be a little more aggressive than the Si Coupe units I have now up front.

I just don't see the need for adjustable fronts, neither the old Civic, nor this one responded well to silly rebound amounts and one cannot go too stiff on compression up front either, the car doesn't appreciate that (at least on stock springs).

I had my heart set on FSD's. Now... Not so much.

I think the moste would prefer the plug-n-play installation! Me too!

Why cant KONI simple release some plug-n-play coilovers or the koni yellows to use with other aftermarket springs?

I cant understand this

Aren't front struts illegal for your class? Or, are you just going to try to "hide" them?

Not at all. Early NEON guys had been using Eclipse units (inserts).

I could call some Jap shock manufacturer and tell them what i want, send them a drawing, tell them i want them to be called Jasons baller shocks and they will do it as long as i order 100 sets. Pick out 2 or 3 sets of shocks and cut them open and take a look inside. You will find pretty much the same exact thing in all 3 sets, it just looks different on the outside with a different name on it. Then take a look inside of a koni. Koni actually does development on each car and valves a shock specificly for that car. Call any other company out there and ask them for a dyno graph for that $1000 coil over set up you purchased from them, they most likly cant provide.

And as far as everyone wanting to dump their car, Its ok to lower on a koni (run a bump rubber) and if you have the need to dump it a crazy amount koni can shorten to accomidate if you want to pay $$
sorry if my spelling sucks i never was that good! lol + im rambling

What is the matter short and crisp?

And please answer this question with y or n: Will KONI release just a "highadjustable" shock to use with for example eibach lowering springs?

IF you want a sport NO if you are willing to pay for a plug and play coilover setup YES. KONI does make the 28 series double adjustable. They will Cost you about $5,000 for a full set, but they are custom built to order.

Remember, Koni was planning on making a full replacement strut for the North American market cars. Now we will be getting inserts like Europe and Asia do.

I am assuming you have tried this site...

I'm assuming when you say HIGH adjustable shock..you mean HEIGHT adjustable. Which doesn't make much sense to me.

The only company that has a plug and play shock/damper for our cars to use with after market springs is Tokico.

All the other companies just offer full coilover setups with (most of the time) mediocre shocks that have their own springs.

You can still get koni's to use for your after market springs, you'll just have to do an insert into your stock front shocks.
