Those who have aftermarket springs or coilovers

Did you guy just not care about your suspension warranty when you lowered your car? Please chime in. TIA.

I don't think it's as big a deal than messing with other aspects like the motor, for example.

Why do they have a susp. kit from the factory that lowers the car? I believe that lowering the car can be completed correctly and the warranty can be honored by dealers.

I know about the HFP suspension kit and that will retain the warranty but I'm talking about those who have installed eibach, tein, comptech, progress, etc.

Eh, nothing really to worry about imo.

The aftermarket manufacturer covers their own product if it fails. You can reinstall the stock parts if you need it.

The only modification I'd worry about is reflash, turbo, SC.

Hondata backs their reflash though, saying it won't void the warrenty.

I believe you! But, I wouldn't want to be the one explaining to his dealership when he has a blown motor why he was at 8500 RPMs.

I guess that makes sense. I was just wondering cause I'm pretty sure majority of members here still has warranty on there civic.

Just know your rights and be reasonable/smart about your modifications and you should be alright!

To answer the OP's question, I thought about that too. But after thinking about it for a while, I realized that are cars are new and they shouldn't really have problems initially, even w/ a modified suspension. I don't know if that was stupid of me to believe or not. Plus, no one on this forum has had any problems w/ their suspensions yet...

The cars aren't old enough/used enough to really tell yet.

^I doubt that anything horrible will happen. Did you lower your car?

I put Tein SS on it in June of 06. But its never been slammed longer than a day. It just didn't handle well so I had to raise it up. So, maybe an inch drop or so. I only have 16,XXX miles on the car though so I'm not a good measure of how lowering effects wear on parts in the long run.

Do you think you made a mistake by lowering your car when it comes to the warranty?

Well I intentionally waited almost 2 years before putting on aftermarket coilovers. I made sure there weren't defects anywhere in the whole suspension ssystem before putting em on. Plus at 30k miles I'm reaching the end of my warranty anyways.

Made a mistake from a warranty stand point, no, its more like taking a chance. However, my windshield washer squirters dont work right and the dealship wouldn't replace them because the stiff suspension is was is causing them to not work right even though then didn't work with the stock suspension.

His awesome, stiff aftermarket suspension allows him to push the car through the corner so hard ..the car cries.

The car has run out of tears and Honda refuses to help.

Obviously!
