OK ... I have added a bunch of the DX/LX/EX Applications except for the Hybrid ...

One bit of great news of thoose of you with rear drums ... Porterfield offers a rear drum lining in the R4S compound which is a GREAT upgrade ... and way cheaper than a rear disk conversions. I ran this compound in the rear of my EK, with Hawk HP+ up front and was surprised how good the package worked on the track.

Cheers

Nice work Moose, I knew you'd be an asset to these forums... (+1 rep)

I hope you weren't talking about our 8th gen race cars running stock brakes though...

I've used Castrol, ELF and Motul in several different applications.

By far the Castrol was the best. Didn't seem to need to bleed the system nearly as frequently when we used Castrol.

Castrol is very good ... comparable to the Project Mu

BUT it is 3-4x more expensive than the Motul RBF ...

So unless you are seriously tracking the Car ... The Motul / or ATE is the best bang for the buck

It wasn't out of my pocket. I was just using the best things I can get given the operation budget I was handed.

Can't have the driver complain about a mushy pedal; especially when he's fighting for a fairly high finish in the championship.

Subscribed! Info so good, that's worth keeping even though I'm no longer getting an 06+ Civic Si.

so all we need to do is purchase the same rotor/caliper setup as the 97-01 preludes and it will be a direct fit?

Great read/resource. Thanks, Moose.

Edit: You didn't mention much about upgraded brake-lines...would a pair of stainless be worthwhile for a dd with some autocrossing? Or just stick to appropriate pads/fluid?

Thanks !

SS Lines are most beneficial when the stock lines are getting old and are flexing more than normal ... They basically help provide a bit better and firmer pedal feel.

So I do not look at them as being a vital upgrade, more of a nice to have. Just make sure that the SS braid comes lined/covered with some form or plastic/rubber/vinyl covering to keep dirt out of the braid were it will wear away the undelying material over time.
