Who has gotten an Alignment?

Lets just see some of the peoples thoughts who have gotten a more aggresive alignment. Here is one view on them, anyone else get them to any of the specs I have suggested? If so what are your thoughts now? Anyone spun out and wrecked yet due to the added rotation in the car

It won't be added in the interested of decreasing tire wear although I'm not going to raise the camber to the point that it starts chewing through my tires.

My nephew, ThatCamryGuy, rode in nomar06's car (which is aligned to highrev1's recommendations) at the Dragon and said his car didn't lean any less than mine, but had a more stable feel to it. I think his alignment is probably more crucial in that regard than the fact he is running Tein SS coilovers and I'm running the HFP kit.

I might make another run to the Dragon with one of the docs at work in a couple months and I hope to have the camber kit and the same alignment as nomar06 in place then. I can give you a report on the difference.

What settings are you recommending, Revered? I'm thinking of taking my car in for an alignment soon.

I've had one all along. That was and always will be the most effective mod for the money on these cars.

Front camber is as much as I could get with the OEM camber bolts. Rear is not adjustable obviously.

My toe settings on the other hand are quite kickass...
F -1/8" total toe out
R -3/8" total toe out

Greg co-drove my car this weekend in full race trim (V710's - although heat cycled out), custom rear Bilsteins, and the alignment. He was impressed to say the least.

How is overall tire wear with the toe out like that? I'm planning to do a more aggressive "stock" alignment, so I guess the rears stay while the fronts would be more negative.

Maybe I'll spring for some suspension crap...

Who cares? I run hard ass all-season tires anyhow for everyday driving.

When the car is on fresh race rubber, the car is capable of running within a second of GS times... And as you know, that's no small feat given the speed of a Cooper S w/LSD.

Having -1.5 or -1.75 in the front wont eat your tires? (do u need aftermarket camber bolts to get this much negative camber?) .....also, because I have subs my back is lower than the front. When I got my camber corrected in the rear it brought the back end up a little. Will adding negative camber in the front drop the front end down a little.?

One doesn't really have to do with another right height does not change with camber adjustment really. -1.5to-1.75 shouldn't kil the tires TOO much, not anymore than just lowering the car without any new alignment, just cause toe gets changed and that really eats tires. So choose. -1.5 for better handling and minimal if any tire wear and -1.75to-2 with slightly more tire wear and better handling more so than -1.5 :)

Yes Tony's car is setup VERY nicley. I didn't drive so well but it was my first event of the season and first time in his car Tony you are a pioneer with yoru setup..

I ordered some ground controls, and should be getting a camber kit soon. I'm looking foward to running -1.5 up front and -1 in the rear. Maybe even -1.75 up front.

As soon as my suspension gets here, it will be -2 in the front and -1.5ish in the rear with 0 toe all round or maybe just a teeny tiny bit of toe out in the rear and front.

I'm getting the front DA Konis (finally!) and factory camber bolts on next week. I'm going to go with max camber in front with 1/8" toe out and 0 toe in the rear, which should be great for the street with not too much wear. I'll dial in more rear toe (when I also adjust the rear shocks to full stiff on bump and rebound) at the events. I'm going to go with max out which I hear is in the 3/8" range.

After seeing the National results for HS, I'm jazzed for next year. HS looks pretty wide open. GS could be cool for the 8th gens too if the Minis go to DS.

Tony or Greg, whoever, I read Tony is running custom Bilsteins in the back, but what is he running up front? and what kind of springs is he running, or is he running GC's? Just curious

Greg I will be getting my car aligned sometime over the next few days and I just had a question or two for you.

I have Skunk 2 camber arms so dialing in the rear camber -1 won't be a problem at all but I don't have front camber bolts. Will I be able to achieve the -1.5 to -1.75 without after market camber bolts?

Tony runs stcok springs cause he is in stock class.

No camber adjusment without front camber bolts, order 2 sets and set the front to -1.5 There cheap like 70 bucks or so.

Oh ok, thanks for the info Greg.

I actually ordered Ingalls front camber bolts with my coilovers but the person I ordered them from shipped me the wrong ones and i just haven't had the time to take care of it. I guess I have to now before I go get an alignment!

BTW, are you gonna be at the October 20th NNJ SCCA event? I'll be there with a bunch of my Team-Integra friends. I am just trying to decide whether or not I want to just spectate or participate with my car.

I'm waiting on my new suspension to come in. Getting two front camber bolts (BigDog saying they get loose scares me though) for a setting of -2.0 F and -1.2-ish rear (or whatever the stock rear camber is at). Heck, I've heard you could even go -3.0 up front for a good setup. I haven't rotated my stock tires AT ALL on the stock suspension for 23k miles.. and needless to say they're getting close to their end (the RE070s can't go on soon enough). The outside edges are worn up into the sidewall, testament to how the car needs more negative camber up front bad.

I'm curious what it'd actually take to make the car rotate TOO much. I don't think I'd touch toe settings though.. not that adventurous yet, heh.
