Putting an Si Rear Sway on an LX sedan... pics
Well I picked up the rear swaybar from nastynogales this morning. He had put the Progress rear bar on his Si coupe so he was selling his Si rear sway bar and lucky for me the Progress bar came with the hardware necessary to mount an Si bar on a non-Si Civic and he included it for me. Took about 25 min to do. Very easy since I had all the parts. Between the Si wheels/tires and Si rear sway the car handles 100% better with only slightly stiffer ride. Special thanks to nastynogales for getting up early to complete the transaction.
The install requires a special piece (2) that allow the Si bar to be mounted in place of the LX bar. The holes on the Si bracket are further apart to accomodate the bigger bushing/bar. You can see in the pics. You just unbolt the sway bar from the link and unbolt the two brackets. The endlinks swivel out so you can easily remove the bar leaving the endlinks in place. The edlink bolt are held still with an allen wrench and the bold is remove with an open end. Anyway here are some pics...... the mod is worth doing for LX owners with no noticeable change in ride comfort. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
