SI rear sway bar

Does anyone have a DIY article to install the 06 si rear sway bar on an 06 ex. I saw the article by 1493cc, but does not it does not seem to give the break down on installing it. I'm a newb to car machanics so a detailed DIY would be helpful,

Thanks.

I did one on my 02 altima. Just take off the old one. remember how it was on. & put in the new one the exact same way. It wasn't too hard. The hardest part is snaking the bar across.

I just ordered everything today. Sway Bar, Brackets, Bushings, the whole enchilada. It should be good upgrade for a grand total of $100.

I'll try to take some good pics as I do the install.

according to honda the ex rear sway is 11mm and the si one is 17mm, other than that there should be no differences.

Do you need the brackets if your going to use the SI bushings on the EX brackets? I would think they would fit maybe?

I just ordered the sway and bushings.. came out to 65 bucks.

i dont think you needed the brackets. If the brackets on the SI were bigger, then I would doubt the bolt holes would line up on the EX.. so i'm guessing the EX brackets would fit fine?

you need to get the BRACKET and bushing/holder with it...

rear bar on SI is significantly bigger and will require replacing all that...i'm waiting on my left bracket as honda ****** it up TWICE already

well i get the sway bar and bushings tomorrow.. so i'll see what else i need.

I'm not sure if the SI brackets will bolt up to the EX's holes though. It might be spread apart more?

If the brackets are too much money, i'll just return the bushings and drill the EX bushings to fit the SI sway.

Ok, i'm a new to this kinda stuff. unplugged, since you got the sway bar installed with the modified ex bushings, do you need the si bushings and brackets? Or did you order them as a precautionary measure? Do I need to order anything else but the sway bar?

I ordered them to do a complete install. The modified bushings should be fine, but I feel that since they have been cut to fit the thicker sway, it may not offer the stiffness of a correctly sized bushing would. I'm sure its not noticeable, but for the 10 dollars I paid for the bushings/brackets, why not?

Installation took 10-15 minutes. Longest part was cleaning the threads on the end links to make removing the nuts quick and easy.

you need every part except the bolt and nuts

Bracket where the bushing bolts on to is wider on the SI's(this bracket is bolted onto the body)
