Is using a torque wrench necessary when installing the new hardware? Do the bolts have to be back to factory torque specifications?

I don't think so. I just tightened it the hardest I could.. because that's how hard it was when I took the damn things off

I noticed today that the car even seems to be more composed at high speed on the interstate. The back end just seems to wiggle less when the wind blows, which was one of my complaints about the handling.

Caveat empor

I purchased and paid for the rear sway bar and all its hardware from HondaPartsDeals.com a month ago. They said they were out of stock of the holders, but sent out everything else. They said they would send out the holders when they got a new stock of them. All the other parts came without a problem.

Two weeks later, no word from them on the holders. I had to send three emails over the course of a week before someone responded.. Then, they sent out A holder--- one single holder (I had bought TWO holders, the amount needed to mount the sway bar). So far, no word from them AGAIN on the second holder.

It has been a month now and I'm still waiting for the holder so I can mount the sway bar to my car.

In the future, I'll buy my parts from someone else, such as anythinghonda.com or College Hills Honda. Had much better service from them when I bought my car's sunshade. I hope you have better luck than I did with your purchases.

Sorry to hear that. I had zero problems with hondapartsdeals.com. I have also used handa-accessories.com for accessory type parts for my car and the wife's CRV and had really good luck.

well not only are the bolts extremely tough to take off w/o an airwrench, the jackpoints on this car are strangely thin and defy using a regular set of jackstands or even a nice jack. bah. taking it to the dealer or somewhere to have it done right. don't want to mess it up.

ok I just got it put on and I will confirm that it is very noticeably better handling. The rear feels stiffer, it does not roll as much and it handles turns MUCH better. My initial impression is: This is something EVERY non-Si Civic owner should have done.

Finally got my holder, a month and a half after ordering it. Stupid $2 part delayed the whole install.

Going to put it on the car this weekend.

I put a floor jack right in the middle where the two lower arms mount, then used jack stands on each side of the jack.
