Painted Calipers Red (G2 Kit)

Install was pretty smooth. I wish i would of had time to take all the calipers off dis assemble the brake assemblly and do it the right way, hut for a DIY w/o any uninstall i am very happy with the results. I mainly painted the areas visible when the wheels are on.

I used the G2 Kit it was about $41 delivered off eBay. I took about 2.5 hours of total work on the car. I've heard the duplicolor kit works well, but i wanted to try the eopxy paint.

And my wife helped me as well :P awww yeaaa

1. jack car up on stands (all 4 wheels)
2. clean calipers with tooth brush
3. clean with air compressor
4. spray brake caliper cleaner/brake cleaner
5. mask off rubber / pads
6. mix paint let sit for 5 paint 1 layer on all 4 go back and do the same thaing 2 times 3 layers total
7. dry 4 hours
8. apply Honda Decal (http://www.grafixpressions.com/) $4 for the kit email them re: honda brake calipers, they will reply with a # then place a custom order from there!
9. apply clear coat over decal
10. install wheels
20. lower car

it was dark i'll take a few more later

Usually i don't like the look of painted calipers (well bright colors anyway) but that looks shit hot :) Fits perfect with the white! Good job

cheap spray paint. i figured the g2 had already bonded with the caliper. I put 2 very thin coats on. just enough to smooth the transition between the decal and the caliper.

so far so good. anybody else find a good high temp clear coat better suited for this application?

EDIT:

maybe this?

nice...but, unless your brakes are really dirty you dont even have to clean them.

I just used a damp rag to clean off any real dirt on them. Used rustoleum high gloss black paint and painted away with a hobby brush. Came out flawless and dried in about 1 hour. All that crap they give you and make you use in the kits is pretty much a waste of $$.

I would do this on my EX. I'd probably go with black to just give it a bit of interest. But I must admit, I miss my bright red 4pots that I had on my WRX. I always loved the look of that.

<3 I do miss my car.

For the guys who put decals on the caliper, did you put it on the rears also or just the fronts?
