Coilover Maintenance Question

So this is a new topic which I know hasn't been covered before but I think is legit.

What do you guys do to keep you coilover setups in nice working order. I live in MD and I guess from MD winters and such my TEIN SS setup is showing some signs of wear. I have a couple really small rust areas and they have alot of dirt and grit in them which make adjusting the coilover really difficult.

So is there and tricks of the trade or things you have picked on cleaning the assembly or ways to keep them free of dirt and stuff????
