You could always get them plated, but could be a pain in the ass if you don't reguarly have parts plated. At work we regularly have parts plated in bright zinc and yellow chromate.

I may not do anything as that will up the price I am hoping to get these things sold for like 20 bucks....Now that I think about it, Get out the old can and spray em down, or go buy a can of underbody spray and use that. This will help keep the cost down for you guys and for me

Hey Greg, I don't think I asked you this, but does the reinforcement bracket design work with the sedan? Cause I have one.

If it's priced close to this regardless if it fits the FA5 which i too own I may go ahead & buy it. If it fits great I will eventually use them in conjunction with the Progress swaybar.

How many instances have there been? what stresses were put on the break point? Were the parts lubricated and installed properly?

Just my $.01

If you're basing the failure of the non si, with the non si control arms, it's not the control arm that failed, it's the metal of where the mechanism was that gave way, a defect of the metal under the stress of the sway bar / control arm.
I said the part that broke was that metal peice that comes welded to the rear lower control arm. Right "J-RO"? If you buy the rear lower control arm that peice comes with it, which means it is considered the rear lower control arm. Therefore, if it breaks, that means part of the rear lower control arm broke. It's not the Endlink that broke (which share the same part # amongst all Civics) Kinda makes you think why do people with our Civics buy aftermarket endlinks when the control arm breaks before the endlink.
-Someone check the Si and non Si control arms. Maybe that welded peice of metal which conects the endlink to the control arm is thicker, better reinforced on the Si control arms, than on the non Si control arms. I bet the Si has heavier lower control arms, which one can infer is because its using thicker steel or aluminum, whatever.

^ Yes, however I had a brief look at Yodums' LCAs when we met up a few Fridays ago, and the brackets on the Si's definitely look different. Honda's drawings are the same (Si LCA vs. non-Si LCA), but their part numbers are different.
However, if they all have the potential to break (as it seems currently) then it may be a moot point. Best just to reinforce them all I think.

And yes, Andrei, the break point on mine was the bracket on the LCA (a "tear-out" on the mounting hole), but that bracket is part of the LCA. But it still makes sense to get aftermarket endlinks... if you reinforce the LCA bracket, that means that something else becomes the "weak link." Would it be the endlink? Who knows, but for $55, I'm willing to upgrade those too and play it safe.
