Question about dealership installations...

So I ordered the HFP suspension kit a couple days ago and had the dealer install it yesterday. I asked if the cost of installation included an alignment and he said no. I told him wouldn't you need one since the car is now lowered? He said I guess so and added the alignment to the list of things they needed to do for my car. I didn't think about it until later, but on the receipt, the alignment comes before the installation. There is a #50 next to the alignment and a #51 next to the installation.

This is probably a ridiculous question and maybe I'm just being paranoid, but the Honda Tech would be smart enough to do the alignment after the install right? Or would he just go in order of the list? I would just call and ask them, but I know they'd lie to me and tell me whatever I want to hear. I just don't have a lot of faith in garages any more since the last time I got an oil change, they didn't even put oil back in the car... (Fortunately it was my Toyota and not my new Civic).

Take "ammo" to service manager...

If they are a decent dealer and you approach them in a non threating manor, I'm sure they will do a recheck on the alignment. If not, make sure the service manager is aware of your concern and tell him that if you have improper tire wear (hand him a letter stating that fact) you will expect new tires. Checking the alignment will be much cheaper (in house labor)than new tires(hard cost). State that fact in the letter. Good Luck !!!
