Smile Just installed my HFP suspension on my 07 Civic LX! (pics)

Well I finally got this suspension kit on my car and I must say it handles and rides beautifully. Its only a little less comfortable cruising on the freeway (bad parts) but the slight increase in "discomfort" is worth the bigger increase in handling. A noticable reduction in body roll. Car is stable. I can take the same curves 10-20 mph faster now.
-I now have a two finger gap all the way around. Mind you, I roll on 225/40/18 tires. Two slightly larger fingers in the rear.
-This kit is so nicely tuned. I noticed that when you compress the stock and HFP rear shock absorber the stock one comes up twice as quick.. Gotta like that stiffness, in the HFP suspension. :)
I am waiting for the springs to settle more than I will take a few more pics.
-For those who fear the lack of drop I recomend you look elsewhere, unless you roll on 18" wheels and have a subwoofer in the trunk.
-Even fewer people might expect a stiffer ride, or what I mean is they might expect an even larger increase in handling. The HFP suspension has the largest increase in handling for the least amount of discomfort amoungst all the aftermarket suspensions I think.

-Installing rear dampner using a 5mm allen wrench/socket...

Looks better when there is no light inside the fenders. Too much light exposing the gap. Looks better in person. I know for sure that it was lowered by one finger.

- Video of me compressing the oem rear shock, the HFP shock comes back up half as fast, its really notthat much stiffer than oem when you push down but its stiffer when it comes back up;

Cool. Im excited about mine to be installed. Id love to get rid of the floaty feeling the EX sedan gets on the freeway at times. Have you noticed if you still get whipped around by winds on the highway at all or is that a swaybar issue.

The suspension definetly helps. But i think it is also a sway bar issue. I will in the upcoming future be getting the oem Si front sway bar for my civic.

Your tire's overall diameter (225/45/17) is 24.97"
My tire (225/40/18) is 25.08" overall diameter. 45% of 225 on an 18" rim would be too large.

yeah, im running 215/45/18's and they turn out to be 25.61" overall diameter, so i've got an extra .5" of wheel gap reduction lol

Actually you take half of the increase in diameter. So your overall diameter increased by half an inch over mine, but that means that you raised your car a quarter of an inch and reduced the fender gap by another quarter of an inch. Since its a circle, you have increased the diameter so when you talk about the fender gap you are talking about the radius of the wheel/tire. So you must take half of the difference. Do you see what I mean? You rose your car by a quarter of an inch and reduced the fender gap by a quarter of an inch. Thats where you get the half inch. If you had an Si with 215/45/17 tires and you upgraded to 215/45/18 you would have increased your overall diameter from 24.61" to 25.61" a full inch! Which would mean; your car will now sit half an inch higher off the ground and half an inch reduction in the fender gap. So if you get the HFP suspension that lowers your car an inch, you already rose the car by half an inch, so you are only lowering your car in the end by half an inch, but you will have less fender(wheel) gap and you wont scrape or have to take driveways at an angle.

so what do you guys think of the drop? I know its not a lot, but I think the springs will settle and it will drop another 0.2".

do you happen to have any before and after pictures? That would show the drop in a good perspective.

Just got back from my trip to the university of Berkeley!! Just plain cool, glad I was able to get a paid trip to check it out for 2 days and a night. I love the campus.

Actually no, but if anyone wants to help me... if anyone has an LX/EX with 225/40/18 tires on a stock suspension if they can measure the gap, for me and compare to what I have now that would be great.
