Mugen Sports Suspension

My Mugen sports suspension for my 2006 FG2 arrived at the depot here in Calgary at 01:05AM and will be delivered today A huge shout out to Clayton and the guys at King Motorsports. I ordered the suspension during the night of Tuesday->Wednesday and it shipped out Wednesday. Talk about getting it out quick.

My best friend is the supervisor at the depot so gonna try to pick it up first thing this morning, screw waiting for delivery. I can't friggin wait. Also ordered a license plate frame (as it, according to the image, actually has cutouts at the lower right and left that fit my validation stickers) and the Mugen Power Ninja T-Shirt with it (because I figured, I spent $1100 on the kit, what's $42 more?). Got all the tools and everything ready to get it on ASAP. Can't wait to get it on and then go rip around the route I usually take for some fun corners to judge the improvement.

Will have a complete write-up of the new suspension, with an absurd amount of pics before, during and after the install. Got a bunch of friends coming over to "help". Although I presume the "help" will consist of them standing around, drinking all my beer and shooting the shit while I bust my knuckles wide open getting it on by myself

A dubious honor to be sure, but am I the first Canadian to get the Mugen suspension?

I know of at least two others that have it, seems they don't post much, and I believe they're both american. SI_Chick was one I believe? NHBP FG2 and a Habby Red FA5 with Work CR-Kais. I could find the threads if I felt like searching :P

But neither of those threads gave a full breakdown of the suspension. Drop height, pictures of the Mugen suspension next to the stock suspension, etc. I heard a drop height of everywhere from 0.6" to 1.4" so i'm interested to see how it actually turns out (as are my buddies).

Got all the Digicam memory sticks cleared, and fresh batteries so I can overload everyone with pics. Will have plenty of wheelwell finger measurements as well as measuring tape before and afters of wheelwell gap, and all four corners. I just wish at least one of my freinds could read Japanese so the instructions would at least see some use. Instead just gonna go off the Spring+Coilover DIYs posted on 8th.

Never done anything of this scope before, so wish me luck. I'm really excited. For me, Mugen was the only choice

And like a broken record, much love to King Motorsports for getting this out the door as soon as is humanly possible. Not often you see a vendor get it out that fast.

Hey I'm in Calgary as well! and I also have a shipment from UPS today, although I have to wait for it.. it's my JL amp.

However, do you mind me asking how much you paid in CDN dollars for the suspension? and the drop is just as subtle as the HFP and non adjustable correct?

With the shirt and the plate frame, came to $1339. And I still have to go pick it up, so there's probably gonna be duty costs too.

Wow, $1339 CDN for mugen suspension (plus shirt and frame) shipped from the states? thats pretty effin good!
are you gonna be installing them yourself? most shops will probably charge you well over 400 easily.

Yeah the brokerage sucks! I have the amp thats about 10"x10" and the brokerage is $50.00.

Is is about 1" like the HFP suspension?

Anyone know the difference between the "Civic All" and "Type-R" kit?

Nice pickup & I can't wait till I install these on my FA5.

Dood, when you gonna put that on? I'm looking forward to seeing this as much as you! How's it supposed to affect how smooth the ride is? I know the Si is a lot rougher than my Alero was, but handles a kabillion times better, so I forgive the roughness.

Yeah gonna be installing it myself, should be the same as the HFP suspension.
Did find out the brokerage costs though. $227. Ouch.

I PM'd Clayton about it. He's not sure if the drop is different on the Type R as opposed to the Sports. They'll know when they get them in (next month). I have a feeling it'll just be stiffer springs though.

Well UPS still has my suspension. My buddy couldn't get to it due to his hours, and then I find out my door buzzer doesn't work so they're gonna try to redilver it today after 5pm, and if I can't get the buzzer working, i'll hafta stand out there until he gets here.

Well, I MIGHT get started on it tonight, but likely tomorrow. You should drop by, I might need a hand. Just call in sick!
