12.3 gallons that pretty low on fuel. i fill up when im down to 1 or no bars of gas and i allways put in about 10.8. its funny how everyones fuel meters show different.anway

Wouldn't a full tank of gas act more like a solid mass than a half tank? A half tank has a whole lot more room to move around in right?

well yes, but there are baffles in the tank to keep the gas from sloshing around

In my experince, the back end tends to rotate more on a full tank than a almost empty tank. The more weight gives the rear of the car more inertia which is going to make it come around more in a corner. Also the more weight in the back changes the weight distribution of the car bringing closer to a neutral distribution around 58/42 front rear. This would also cause the car to rotate more in the corner not push. Other than that, it will increase stopping distances and it will slow acceleration.

thats my 0.02 cents
the fuel doesn't shift that much during hard driving. The gas tank is not hollow, there are baffles which keep the fuel from sloshing around too much. I would suggest the only changes you're feeling are from the added weight, not the extra weight moving in turns.

Yeah my girl is 125 lbs and i can feel her weight in the car if i'm driving spiritedly. Its a total bummer when any one else is in the car an im first in line for the on ramp. Its still fun but its just that much better when its just me.

Yeah... more weight in the rear car is more likely to spin out? I can see that. Like the Porsches with obviously the engine in the rear were prone to oversteer when a turn is taken to quick.
Why do you guys use weight distribution as an arguement for longer braking distances?? Don't you guys know that we have EBD? Is that right? Electronic Brake Distribution. Our cars will modify braking front and rear based on weight distribution. If we have more weight in the back it will make the rear brakes work a little harder.

while i agree that you feel a diff its hard to believe...i would think that the additional weight would make the car handle better...more weight in the rear = more traction over the rear tires...while there is some sloshing this is minimized by the use of baffles in the fuel tank plus there would be just as much if not more sloshing at half tank than full tank...im sure that there are some good technical docs on how sloshing affects handling but i couldnt find any...by the way how fast are you taking those turns?...lol..if its affecting ur handling that much u might want to take it in and get it checkd..or never fill it up...sry
