Question big brake kit

does anyone know where to get a full bbk? front and rear? so far i've only seen kits made for the front only, and i heard that if you get the rear, you would have to get rid of your e-brake help.. anyone?

Rotora is in the process right now. I was thinking about buying the same thing. Although I think it still disingages the e brake for some reason. I think now I am just going to buy rotors and pads

keep in mind if you are doing the brake kit for anything other than just looks that if you upgrade your tires to wider stickier tires it will in most instances increase breaking more than swapping rotors and pads. I found this out after I was thinking of doing a big break up grade on my last car and then talked to some guys who know their shit and actually are weekend track guys. Not too mention that there are a few magazines out there have had articles on just this subject and have come up with the same conclusion.

I know that this obviously does not answer this thread directly but just incase you have not thought of this I wanted to add it in. If someone would have done it for me back in the day it would have save me alot of time researching and talking to people about it, not to mention warped rotors and waisted money.

i just had a track day today. on my third session my brakes went away completely till they cooled down.

i was coming down the front straight at 120+ into turn one and you have to break hard, heal toe down into 3rd. i was hard on a lotus elise's ass for the past 4 laps. (2.5 mile road course). anyway, i stepped on the brakes, had some initial bite and then around 75-80 the pedal went to the floor and nothing. it was so severe i dont even think spoon calipers would have helped. when i finally came to a stop after blowing through the turn and onto the run off. a huge cloud of smoke came off my brakes like the motor had just blown. it took about 30 seconds for the brakes to come back.

if your gonna do any kind of track days i suggest something w/ 4+ pistons. all the scca guys there told me to go buy a set of brembo calipers and slotted rotors. not drilled. i mean oem brakes (5000 miles) only lasted 4-5 laps of hard racing till they got to hot and would not work anymore. i still have one more day, tomorrow and well see how well they hold up. they bumped me up a class for tomorrow cause they think i can hang w/ the vettes and porsches. well see how well i do and its all gonna come down to how well the brakes hold up.

i wasnt the only car experiencing brake problems. a g35 and mustang mach 1 both toasted there breaks and had to run to a local auto parts store and replace them. a vette split a pad and it fell out.

i did learn to conserve my breaks a little after that fade problem but tomorrow, to hang with those high HP cars i'm gonna have to use all i can out of the car.

our cars experience brake fade with high temps. upgrade your brake fluir and brakes lines. also the brakelines run by the header so that makes the brake fluid hot. do a search on brakes and you will find a lot of helful info from other members who track.

If you want improved braking, but want to stick with OEM discs, get some slotted rotors, Hawk HPS pads, and SS brake lines. You can PM me for pricing. If you want more leverage, and a more powerful brake setup, go with a ROTORA BBK.
