I decided not to add the option of people who have not experienced any breakages because if later it does happen to break, you can't come back to the poll and change your answer.

But so far, J-Ro is the only one who said yes in the poll. It's obvious, at this point, that it is not a common occurance.

The more I think about it, the more I'd like to know what actually caused it. Unfortunately I don't think that's something anyone's going to know unless it happens to someone else.

I was able to find an Si sedan it was the only Si on the lot that i could compare to an EX. No conclusive finds. They said they would get an Si coupe next week. They have a Porsche Carrera, a Mercedes CLK63 AMG on the showroom floor but no Si coupe!! Its a Honda dealer!! I'll have to try to compare them myself no one could answer our question. They don't were the difference in controil arms can be found.

I don't think anyone can beat Andrei'sCivic for persistance when it comes to finding information... +1

As for the dealers, I considered going to them, but they're not usually too bright when it comes to technical stuff like that. The service department at my dealer in town here is particularly dumb, so I didn't even bother

There are 3 techs that work for a Honda dealer on the local honda club forum in OTT. They might be smarter than your avg dum dum honda tech
Either way, I think I'll be getting the BE-RS Sway bar and be one of the first. Its just.. scary

BTW, could you confirm if the Progress bar's bends follow the stock sway's bends? I think you mentioned the BE-RS's sway looks a little different but I took a look at the pictures of it and the stock side by side and they seem to be the same.

And I think the guy who voted it happened to him/her prolly just felt like doing that. Otherwise, he would post something about it *sigh*

The difference that I saw between BE's and Progress' was that the Progress bar is symmetrical, whereas the BE one looked asymmetrical. Unless it was just a weird picture...

I PMed the guy that voted "YES". Hopefully he'll add some more information as to what happened to his car. If the yes vote from this member pans out, it'll add a lot more credibility to the problem as this would be coming from a person who works on a highly tuned 8th generation Civic.

^ Nice. Thanks for figuring that one out.

Don't know if "credibility" is the right word; it happened. But hopefully it will shed some light on whether it was the fact that the adapter brackets were not in from the start or whether it is the extra stress from the thicker bar.

BE-RS rear sway bar 21mm IN STOCK NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

looks a lot like the stock Si sway's shape. Does yours look like that? Im gonna wait to see if the other guy whos bracket broke will say something about how his got busted

By the way, would you say you drive hard around corners a lot?

It still looks asymmetrical to me, but then so does the stock Si bar, so I don't see it being a problem. The Progress bar has the same general shape to get between the body and the gas tank, but the bends are symmetrical. I don't think it's a big deal.
Probably a good plan on waiting to see what 8thgenuser can find out about this other broken bracket.
Well, I'm usually not nuts about going around corners hard, but I drive through the country to get to/from work, and there are some REALLY nice windy roads, which are just so hard to leave alone!

J-Ro,

i just read this entire thread so forgive me if i missed something, but how long did you have the swaybar on before this happened? I just checked my si and my progress bar looks fine, but I've only had it for maybe 3 months. In that time, however, I've really put it to the test. i'm using stock endlinks, too.

I had the progress bar on for a couple months through the winter. That was because there was a mix-up with the Progress group buy and I didn't end up getting the non-Si adapter kit. So the bar went on, then by the time the problem got sorted out, we were already into our [heavy sarcasm]wonderful[/heavy sarcasm] Canadian winter. So the switch didn't end up being made until spring.
To sum it up, I'm not sure when the break happened, so unfortunately I can't be more specific other than to say it was a couple months--the only reason I know that is that I looked at the surface of the break and it definitely didn't look recent.

I PMed him and asked that he post here, but he hasn't done so yet. He PMed me a response, but I didn't really understand everything he was trying to say. I would post the response here, but I don't know if he really wants me to. I'll wait a few days to see if he posts on this thread. If not, I'll try another PM.
