hfp suspension ride quality?
I have an 07 ex coupe with stock suspension and 17 hfp wheels, and I want to get peoples thoughts with hfp suspension, for use on a daily driver. All my vehicles have been lowered and rode pretty rough, I am tired of the rough riding cars. Just trying get peoples thoughts before I bought.

I don't have the HFP or anything right now but the general consensis is that they are just slightly stiffer than stock,so if you think stock is a little soft right now then these might be just right for you.You also get a modest drop with them..about .8 inches or so. |

HFP Suspension Fan !!!
If you want better handling than stock, the HFP suspension is noticeably firmer and with the slightly lower center of gravity, it is still good for a daily driver. I also added the Si front and rear sway bars complete (Si bushings with holders, Si bushing holder brackets, and related hardware) which also improved the side to side movement (roll). Like you, I have HFP 17" wheels with 225/40-17 tires. I went the cheap route with General Exclaim UHP tires and will replace them if I do any autocross racing. But for a daily driver, I think they are great starter tires. These modifications have greatly improved my cars handling which results in a fun drive and when I am driving EX coupe I'm in my own little world. Besides, it's also very pleasing to the eye... JMO !!!

It's a daily driver !!!
General Exclaim UHP as I stated are a good for a daily driver. Not all of us drive as if we were "Mario". For $85 a tire, you will not find a better tire and awesome in the rain...IMO

I drive an Si with no HFP suspention, and was interested in the HFP suspention so I went down to the dealer where my dad works and test drove an Si with HFP suspention. Honestly it felt almost stock, going over ruff patchs it was a litte stiffer, and turning responce was a little tighter. Personally I decided it did not lower the car enough and was not stiff enough for me. I imagen it would be softer in an r18 so I would say opt for it. It honestly feels almost stock exept it takes turns better, and slighty rougher over rough roads.

I'm starting to feel the limitations of the stock Si-- maybe I'm just a nutty driver (NOT when there are people present, always in a quiet area).
I feel a bit of body roll, a little less confidence at 45-58mph (limit 45) curves -- though some of the slippage on even tighter corners is due to stock tires -- I realize that. There are a lot of less-populated curves where I go to work and around town, even in and around a major city. I want more grip power, and stiffer cornering without teeth-chattering suspension. HFP sounds like the kit for me. I think I need to start auto-x. |

I drive an 07 Civic LX with the HFP suspension. Got it shipped for $502 and I installed it myself with the help of my brother. I understand why 2000civic said it was a small difference. However I would definetly suggest going with the HFP suspension, the car rides a bit stiffer over rougher roads, not a problem dont even worry about it. But it does stay flatter in the curves. I'm pretty happy with it. I'll wait some time to see if it drops a bit more. Don't expect any more than an inch drop. I think if you have 17" rims maybe you should go with a suspension that gives you more of a drop. However if you really like your ride to be comfortable then stay stock.
