wheel alignment?

i bought some wheels 18x8 and the tires are 225/40/18. the passanger wheel rubbed my tein basic coilovers, only on the front right side of the car... the wheel and tires are fine but i am concerened about how to fix the problem. WHY would only the passenger wheel rub my coil spring? i am going to buy quarter inch wheel spacers for the front. if that is my only solution. any help or insight would be much appreciated.

This is a good question, I'm running 18x8.5 225/40/18 with Eibach sportlines and only my passenger rear tire rubs the fender. Kinda strange if you ask me.

If you have more negative camber (top of tire leaning toward the opposite front tire) on one side than the other, that may be reason why it rubs only on one side.

I hope you had a good 4 wheel alignment done after you adjusted your ride height. Many people over look this step and hope they don't waste their tires!

Alignments are cheaper than buying tires over and over.

good stuff, ordered my skunk 2 camber kit today and it will be here tomarrow along with my wheel spacers for the front. i bought 5 millimeter spacers due to the rubbing issue. they gave me 45 mm offset wheels i need 42. but the spacers will help. i am getting my alignment on friday at 11. i want to ride on the clouds.

Meh.... I still haven't gotten an alignment done 3 weeks after dropping my car. When I let go of the steering wheel, the car just coast in a perfectly straight line.

However, I did try to get it aligned at not one, but TWO different shops and both told me my car was too low for their equipment. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing? I thought an alignment was an alignment, I had no idea some places do them differently.

i use National tire and battery, a local car shop adrenaline has been taking their skyline, supra, and 240's to them and NTB has a guy named bill that has been specializing in lowered vehicles with suspension mods. i made an appointment with bill for 11 oclock tomarrow morning to get the align. done. yes! the camber kit is on! and the beautiful car should run very smoothly, i want to change to a synthetic oil the next time i do an oil change.

With a low ride height, some cars will drag or get hung up when you try to get on the alignment rack. A couple well placed 2x6s can usually make the difference. Some shops have a poor attitude when dealing with modified cars and look for any excuse to turn down work on such cars. A good shop can handle it!

I just had this experience not more than 15minutes ago with the Dealer and with Firestone as well.... The car isn't terribly out of alignment, but I want the peace of mind knowing it is good to go after installing the Teins S Springs. I just can't seem to find anyone that can fit it on their lift... They all want me to take the bumper off...
