DON'T put non HFP springs on the HFP suspension. The dampers are valved to work perfectly with with the springs. So changing them is going to defeat the purpose of getting better handling out of the car. If you really want to hanlde better, looks sould be of no concern. Remember, you can't see the what the car looks like when you are driving, you can only tell how it feels. The Si suspenion can pull .9g on some sticky rubber and even more with a good alignment. I would call that pretty good.

sorry if i missed it reading the article, but do front and rear lower tie bars affect handling considerably? im no longer interested in a sway bar because of the recently discovered endlink problem, and h-braces dont do much

The tie bar will help with feel a little, it won't help handling (quantitatively), but should increase your confidence in your driving skills because you think it is supposed to help so you drive the car harder than you ever did before which makes you think that the tie bar works.

Hypothetically, a tiebar reduces body twisting and increases rigidity. But if you look at the front tie bar it's across the firewall section of the frame which seems pretty rigid already. Something tells me it won't make that much of a difference.

Those seem to be some ok dyno curves. Revy, your thoughts on the curves?

It appears as if they almost reduced rebound on the rear dampers on the mugen setup compared to the stock dampers. Other than that they appear to be slightly more aggressive, although the mugen fronts have what appears to be more low speed valving, I think it is after 3 here and I am waswted

So, with the more low speed damping in the front they will have more roll resistance than the stock type r suspension. Also, with the lower mid to high speed damping and compression front and rear, they would be a little nicer on the butt on the big bumps of the streets.
Its 2 am out here and im drinking too. 3.5 shots of jack on the rocks in 45 minutes.

I'm looking for similar handling as I had on my prelude SH; OTS konis, 400F/450R GC, ST 25mm rear bar, strut braces. Originally started with the 450 springs in front, but I was much happier when I moved them to the back.

Thing is that I think the GCs were overkill for what I needed. I was lowered about an inch, never got corner balanced, once I found my ride height I kept it that way till I traded th car in...so over 2 years. I didn't even adjust the shocks too often.

On my Si, I already have the PS2 tires and I'm contemplating 2 setups:
1) HFP suspension + alignment + maybe rear anti roll bar (if I need more rotation).
2) OTS Konis with stock springs + alignment + rear anti roll bar (I'm guessing it wont rotate enough w/o it since I'll be using stock springs). I'll also be able to lower the car a tiny bit with the various circlip positions, I assume.

I'm just thinking that doing the whole GC/Koni combo is overkill since this car might only see some auto-x/HPDE action, which will be strictly for fun, not competition. Any comments or feedback on my 2 choices from the suspension gurus greatly appreciated.

^^^Are the OTS konis for your lude an insert? Koni's site says they are inserts, sites that sell them say they are a full shock ready to bolt in. My friend is going to get them.

Did you like the ride on your lude with the OTS konis/GC combo? If you did, why not get them again for the Si? Even though you aren't looking to really compete in any auto xes, I bet you will have more fun with the OTS konis/GC combo then the other two you have listed. Going fast is fun. Going faster is more funner.

Hey im looking for a suspension kit that rides close or better then stock over bumps and pot holes but fits 18s with no gape can someone help me please I just don't have the money or time to find out the hard way by buying like 3 kits to find the right one no what I mean.
