dc5 ITR brembo kit

i was wondering if ppl could provide input on what would be necessary to make the dc5 type r brembo kit work on an fg2.

most kits i see for sale come with the brembo rotors, brembo calipers, pads, and brake lines.

so i know some brackets are needed and what about the distribution of the brake force? does that come into play here?

Are you aware that there already is a Brembo BBK available for the FG2?

Check this out...some guy on eBay is selling the calipers from an EVO VIII for less than $400. That's 2 x 4-piston front Brembo calipers + 2 x 2-piston rear Brembo calipers.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BRAKE-CALIPERS-BREMBO-MITSUBISHI-LANCER-EVOLUTION-EVO-8_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33563QQihZ002QQitemZ1 20122247225QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

If I had any idea what it would cost to custom fabricate mounting brackets to make them work on an FG2, I'd buy them! I believe the rotors that work with these calipers are 330x32mm up front and 300x22mm in the rear.

There great for the track to dissipate heat and not experience brake fade but under street driving conditions they are overkill.

Can your stock brakes/tires envoke ABS? If yes then you are at the max that you will brake. TIRES 4 small contact patches if those are MAXED then it almost doesn't matter what you do elswhere.

We spent the other day bedding in pads with R compound tires. We used Carbotech AX6 pads on stock rotors with Motul RBF600 and Goodridge lines. We then ran a simulation and experienced ZERO fade (unlike the nearly complete fade I was able to produce after just a couple of minutes on the stock setup on street tires). So instead of spending $2300 you can spend under $400 and get performance suitable for tracking on R compounds not to mention street tires. Carbotech does not recommend running the AX6 on the street, but if you can live with the dust (non corrosive dust unlike Hawk HP+) there is really no reason not to.

Also, think of how much unsprung rotational weight you are adding to each corner of the car? My guess is that you are adding at least 15lbs/corner not to mention you are forced to run 18" wheels minimum also adding to the weight. In the end you end up with a worse riding, worse handling, slower car for $2300! But the ricers will sure think it looks "balla yo!"
