To be fair, Mugen for example to get a product to market quickly because they simply revalved the OEM Showa/Sunbury dampers... But at $1100, they aren't adjustable, nor are they that aggressive, especially for serious autocrossers. Add to that fact that those of us in Stock cannot change springs, so in essence, I'd be spending $1100 for slightly stiffer, non-adjustable shocks. If the shocks were available for even $500 as a stand-alone product, I'd consider it as a short-term solution.

koni probably don't want to go the inserts route, they had so much problem with the dc5's with the shock inserts.

I have checked Skunk 2 website and did not find that they have shocks for 2006 Civic. If you have a link Notty could you post it, please?

Any of the sponsers got any word on some aftermarket shocks? I got a birthday coming up, and, although i like the flex's, the shock dyno curve of the Koni in the shock dyno thread is just tooooo good to resist.

Boy, whichever company hits the market first with some aftermarket dampers for the 8th gen, is going to make a fortune.

why not just use the HFP shocks for now, it's what i did and they are more aggressive than stock and fairly inexpensive. My Comptech / HFP setup is great!

The Koni units are out ...

Hi guys,

This is my first post since I don't any information and/or insight to provide that you haven't touched on already. However, today is an exception, and I just wanted to let you know that the Koni units are out; kinda confused about the name though.

It's called the FSD Sport - I thought FSD and Sport were two separate product lines -the product numbers are >> F#8641-1497Sport R#8041-1360Sport. And from the info on the Koni.com site, I'm pretty sure they're inserts.

Just thought you'd like to know. BTW, I'll probably wait for Bilstein before making my choice.

Cheers,

Gritt

Those part numbers have been out for some time. I called them a few weeks ago, and they are still working on them. They are now shooting for mid to late fall is what I was told for the release!

Like was said above, expect backorders !

So do we know for sure yet whether these Koni FSD Sports are full shocks or just the inserts? And if the latter, what does it take to install inserts?

I just received a reply from Koni North America saying that they hope to have yellows for our cars by the end of the year but I don't know if that means anything.
