Hey guys i am finally going to get lowering springs i was thinking about getting the Tein S-techs but from some of the post i have been reading it looks like some people have benn having problems with them, so i need your opinon from the people that have already lowered there cars give me your input on tein or the current set up that you have, i dont want to end up having to re buy different springs later, i am looking for a good ride and and a decent drop. I would like to make note that i will be putting on a body kit on the car as well within the month so i need the car to have a good suspension as well i dont want to look like a bobble head when i am driving, your input would be well appreaciated, as soon as possible i would like to order the springs sometime this week. Thanks

sichick,
I was going through the same thing as you are when i was going to lower my car. I did a ton of research and ended up going with the eibach sportlines. I would highly recommend them. I was on sort of a low budget so i did not get a camber kit. The ride is incredible and the springs work very well with the stock shocks. The camber is perfect in the front and a little negative in the back but maybe only 1-1.5 degrees off stock. So the camber kit is not totally needed. The car handles way way better and looks really sick. Tai at corpsort was the one who convinced me. He said teins are way overrated and people are complaining about them. I have no sqweeks or clunking, only trouble with driveways and speedbumps. If you are doing only springs i'd go with the sportlines and i'm sure others would agree with me. If you want coilovers i would get either tein or B&G. This is my opinion. |

^ Thanks, right now i have a budget because i still have to paint the body kit and i am getting some pretty high quotes, but i still have a couple of mods on my list so i need to get the best for my buck i dont mind paying a little extra because i know that you get what you pay for, i was going to get teins becasue my sponser can get them for me at cost, by the way whats wrong with your springs when you go through drive ways and speed bumps? If you can please post pictures?

I have had S-Techs for about 3.5 weeks now and just last week, I started to notice the creaking, or for me, sounds more like a cracking noise whenever I go over speed bumps faster or take a sharper turn that would make my car sway a little. I don't know why it is, maybe because of the recent colder weather here, or if it has something to do with the rubber things on the springs, not sure yet really, because the first two weeks, had no problem at all with them, but then again, I don't remember driving as hard during those times so I told people they were perfect.
I'm still trying to find out why these S-Techs make noise in the front when I go over speed bumps faster than usual or take a sharp turn. Other than that creaking problem (that's what it sounds more like... creaking, not squeaking or cracking...), the ride is great! Feels like stock and I'm riding 1.5 inches lower now. And of course, I have SPC rear camber kit, and SPC front camber bolts. |

Btw, not getting an adjustable rear camber kit after a drop is fine, your tires will just lose it's tread a lot faster and end up paying more in the end anyway. This is due to the fact that less of the tire is touching the ground while you're driving, so, while it is cambered negatively in like that, more stress is being put on a smaller amount of the tire, which in turn, causes the tires to just go bald a lot faster than normal.

I have Tein SS so the drop is adjustable. However, with a full tank of gas the front drop is even with the rear. As the fuel load gets lighter, the back end is higher than the back by 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch or so. I think it looks "meaner" with the rearend a little higher than the front.
