do you really have to cut the bump stop when installing springs?

Ok guys, i just got my eibach prokit on the mail today and while reading the instructions it sais something about cutting the bump stop, is this nesesary?

^^^ I have the sportline kit. I had to cut my bump stops. Just dont just them too much.

yes you do, just cut the bottom one off

Yes...although it's not much


I have Teins with a 1.4 drop and I never cut my stops and have yet to hit them

Mine were cut i believe 1/3 of the bumpstop was cut. I havent bottomed out or had any issues. The spring kit should specify how much to cut them. I would follow the directions.

i have tein s-tech..i went and cut half.. if you really want the front to drop more.. cut HALF or more...

^^ He's talking about the protective rubber stops on the S-Tech springs, not shocks. Which, if you cut them off on the springs, it will lower your ride slightly more, we're talking about two different items here, shocks to springs.

I have had the Sportlines installed for about 2 months now. I cut my front bump stops because they were easy to get to. Didn't cut the back because they were a whore to get to.....no problems yet. Rides like stock.

fronts are easy to do anyways and right there when your changing the springs. Grab a hacksaw, and chop those whores in half. Then don't worry about the back unless you have problems, which you most likely won't.
