TEIN Basic or SS

Not sure which I should go for. Considering once I set my ride height, i'm not going to be adjusting it.. so it only comes down to damper adjustments if I need it or not.

How do you guys like your TEIN installs.

Well, I have the Tein SS with Tein Flex's on the way. I like the fact that i can adjust my damping rates. I usually have it on full stiff unless i'm going on a long boring trip on a straight freeway at which point i soften it up. I had so much fun trying different settings and then taking a sprited drive. SS ftw!

I've got the Flex and I've never been in a FG with the basics or the SS so I can't say much for the ride difference, but I love the fact that I can change the dampening. I use it as a daily driver and my girl hates the stiff suspension settings so I even got the edfc and use it almost daily. If it were between the Basic or the SS I would go SS just so if you want to change the dampening you can rather than be stuck with a system you can't do that with.

hmm, i like the fact I can get the EDFC with it and adjust my dampening from within the vehicle when parked.

I have the SS right now. I like being able to adujst the damping. It was so much fun adjusting the settings and going for a sprited drive. I have them at full stiff at the monent an only soften them up if i'm going on a long, boring freeway drive. However, I ordered Flex's because i feel the SS are to soft for my tastes.

even at the stiffest setting, its too soft? Wow. I was expecting it to be a firmer ride.

I have the SI front and rear sway bar, i'm thinking of switching to the progress rear. Along with the megan rear and front tie bar and h-brace, i was hoping the SS would be sufficient.

its all up to you. I've heard people say the Eibach Pros are too stiff. I thought they were softer that stock on my old GSR. I just want super sharp reactions and i plan on auto x when the flexes get here.

I definetly think it's worth the money to get the SS because you have so many more options with it with the ride quality and if you can swing the edfc it makes it that much better. I just got home and I played with the edfc about 5 times in a 45 mile trip.

Some of my friends think the handling is hella good on the softest setting and that it rides way to stiff on the hardest.

if i can have the sportlines or progress springs stiffness, and be able to add a little bit more, then I would be satisfied.

If you put all the other braces in and have upgraded the sway bars I think the SS would be great setup for you to match the sportlines or progress stiffness and give it a better handling setup than either spring kit

yup, i agree! i have the tein ss on my si and i feel they could be stiffer! i use to rock the koni adjustables on my integra and the dampering was controlled by the dial on top of the shock just like the teins! the konis were definately stiffer!

my tein basics are still new so im wondering if they will soften out or stay this stiff but the ride is sorta bouncy on subdivision roads.
