HFP Suspension in Canada

Hi all,
I called collegehillshonda.com for more information on the HFP Suspension. I have a 2006 civic DX-G canadian version, I don't know if it's that same as the american version. Anyways...the sales representative from collegehillshonda told me that it might not fit on my DX-G because the partnumber is not the same as the partnumber if I would order it from a canadian dealer. Is that true?? cuz i really doubt it that it will not fit. Furthermore, he said the suspension is only made for the EX and LX models, and it may not fit for the DX (american). Someone please clarify things. Thanks!!

welcome to 8th!
I would recommend calling the parts department at your local dealer.
ask if the HFP suspension they sell is the same as the one they sell in the US
and if any HFP fits on ur DX-G at all

It is really difficult to get information of that nature from parts slingers at the local dealer. Put yourself in their position for a moment: they may or may not be enthusiast, they are not typically trained mechanics, they can only tell you what they know fom the Honda computer system for fear of liability suits against them and the dealer.

Things we know: Suspension between all FG2, FG1, FA5, and FA1 are interchangeable in that they will bolt in place. Dampening and springs rates are all that vary between the models. Even the Hybrid suspension is interchangeable so odds are good the DX-G is too.

Things to consider: Suspension technology is based on weight, weight bias, and intended use (this determines silly things like ride height and dampening rates). With this in mind, you can make your own determination as to suitability for your application.

Obviously this is greatly simplified, but you get the point.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

P.S. the Auto Sedan is 65 lbs heavier in the front than the Coupe. This is a 1% bias change.

also this may be a stupid question but can you specify what FG2, FG1, FA5, and FA1 mean? (example FG2 = DX) thanks

FG1 is the Coupes
FG2 is the Si
FA5 is the Sedan

I might be wrong about the first two though.

However, I talked to my dealership and they said it would fit. I don't see a big difference between LX, EX, DX-G and DX as they are all pretty much the same give or take some features (ie, sunroof, painted door handles and side mirrors, etc)

To conclude, the HFP suspension for the EX/LX will fit your DX-G. Besides, I have a DX-G and I'm getting mine installed next month!

I'm going to be getting it at a local dealer.
Fortunately, the place where I bought my car gives a 15% off all products and services for 5 years card.
Thats why I held off all the accessories for my car until after I paid for it and took it off the lot.

It's $1400 to install, with my card its about $1200.. So I get a good $200 off that.
I got about $80.00 off my front HFP kit and will do the same for the front and sides.
So its a good deal.

Thanks for the comments! I don't have any pics right now, I'm at work lol... I was waiting to take new pics for when I get my new rims on and right now the weather is sucking pretty bad.
