Review: EBC GreenStuff Pads, BDI Rotors, CorSport Brake Lines, ATE fluid

PICS ON PAGE 2

So far I just changed my front brakes:

EBC GreenStuff brake pads
BDI Front Slotted/Drilled Rotors
CorSport Front Brake Lines
ATE SuperBlue Brake Fluid.

I did about a 60 mile break in so far. I noticed less fade, quicker and firmer braking. I'll do the rears on Monday as i'm going away for the weekend. And i'll continue my review.

I did notice that for the first 3-5 miles, everytime I came to a complete stop the car would stop and then make a loud metal noise and jerk a bit foward. I'm assuming its the pads beading into the rotors.

Ok, I put the rears in today. Everything seems good. Drove another 50 miles for break-in. No braking noises or anything like others seem to have gotten. I'm wondering if they put the rotors on - the slots or drilled only go one direction.

I can't believe how well this car brakes now. There's not much difference in city driving, but on the highway, I don't even mind getting cut off now except maybe I should get a re-inforced rear bumper..lol

I put Greenstuff pads and EBC Sport Rotors on all 4 wheels of my car. I love them. There was A LOT of noise from the slotted/dimpled rotors, but now after about 1,500 miles, most of it is gone - except when I brake hard.

This is a major upgrade from the stock setup. The braking and confidence in the brake system, especially in the rain, is much better now.

My only complaint is that the Greenstuff pads seem to dust pretty good. It's not a real problem for me since I'm a detailing freak - car doesn't sit dirty for more than a couple of days. Also the dust does wash off easier than other pads.

They were marked with a R and a L, and I put them on right... I think?

Do the slots sweep forward or backward? Imagine this is the top of the rotor and the front of the car is to the right. Are the slots \ or /? I have mine \, and this is the way they were stamped.

Thanks,
Brian

back |---> front

think of this as the car, most people would think the slots would go \ as it looks like it would be right, but it should be /.

the way you described it, the install is wrong. I had actually just tried it right now after your post and it does make noise.

Now when you change the rotors, make sure you move the pads with it. Meaning, the pads should be on the same rotor, on the same side of the rotor.

Yes, it look like I have them on the wrong way

I did check today and they are marked R and L, but the slots are backwards from how you put them on?

I'll switch everything tomorrow and see if the noise goes away.

Thanks a lot,
Brian
