HFP 1" drop suspension

What's the word about the 1" drop from HFP? Is it any good. I'm currently shopping for a 1" drop for my EX coupe for under $600.

Anyone who has the HFP package: how's it ride? Looking for some options.

Fairly new to the boards. at least this section. I've done most of my post in the HID lighting section.

Here is my Si on the HFP suspension. compared to my wife's Si, sitting side by side, it is a little over a 1/2" drop. Ride is nice and solid, a big difference over the OEM suspension. However, someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I am not sure that the HFP suspension works on non Si models??? Or is it Si suspension won't work on non Si models. I don't rightly remember... but you might want to check it out before hand.

collegehillshonda.com has a HFP 1" drop suspension for the EX Coupe. I think it just came out this past year or so.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

SiRyan, did you have to get the alignment re-adjusted once you did the drop? and how much did everything cost including parts, labor, and alignment?

No alignament needed. I bought the suspension for 550 and 200 labor for the suspension.

$700 seems a LOT to lower a car 0.5-1.0"'s. (Then again you maintain warranty)

It's not about the drop, it's about the better handling. And it costs $500 on ebay.

I've only heard good things about the HFP susp and you can't really go wrong on the warranty issue with OEM parts so..

One suggestion if what you are concerned is the agressive look, once you wear out your current tires, buy taller ones, like +10 on the middle number. The car will look even lower, won't scrape since you are keeping the same height and will still handle great..those are my plans anyways..

As stated before HFP drop is only .75" ~ .8". The different shocks/dampers is the key reason for improved handling.

Si, don't taller tires throw off the speed-o?

Sorry blaznhot, figured there would be more than one thread after I posted. Hindsight is always 20/20.

Anyway, the question I had is if you drop the suspension ~1" doesn't the camber on the wheels change and cause uneven wear? at least that's what I've heard.

The HFP is a little lower than the stock Si. My dad had me come down to his work and test drive an Si with the HFP suspention. He wants me to go with that instead of aftermarket with my Si.

Looks Impressions: I parked the HFP Si next to my own Si and the HFP Si was definitaly lower than my own. However the HFP Si's wheel gap seemed very similar to my own Si wheel gap. Overally though the HFP Si's body had a lower look than mine did.

Driving Impressions: I really only drove it around the block, but I did notice that I sat a little lower in the HFP Si than in my own. The ride was a little stiffer but not noticibly unless you are on really rough roads. Handling was also improved, although I really cannot go into detail because I only really drove it a few miles and around a few turns. Plus it was not my car so I did not want to beat on it.

I was not really to impressed with the suspention. I felt that the Si should have just come stock with the HFP set up. If it lowered the car another 1/4 to 1/2 inch, and was a little stiffer, I would have been a little more pleased.

However the HFP +side is it has that legendary Honda quality, warrenty, not to low, and OEM ride quality.

I just do not feel the HFP is for everybody. If you like a stiffer ride and a little lower car like myself, I would not say that it is for you.

usually less than 1" doesn't cause a problem...more than inch requires camber kits
