18'' hfp wheels weigh about 23 lbs not sure how much the 17'' hfp weigh but the stock wheels weigh about 21 - 21.5 lbs

23lbs? That'll be why I am getting $hitty gas mileage compared to my wife then! I have the 18" HFPs, she has OEM 17's.

Nice car by the way!!!

well.. you have more rotational mass.. which is worse than heavier wheels..
and you're gonna get better mpg as your mileage increases..

I'd say it's cause both the springs and the 18's. I have the same springs with the si 17's and I don't get any rubbing. I do get the front shocks hiting the bump stops on the big freeway dips though.

But honestly, your car looks so dope, I wouldn't change a thing.

Your car looks great! I guess you decided to use the HFP's. I was able to find the same wheels on ebay for $890 shipped. What kind of tires did you use? I was thinking of getting the Falken ZE-512, or Nexen N5000. Do you think that if the car was not lowered you would still have the rubbing issue? I'm not planning on lowering mine, but have a concern using 225/40/18 rather than the 215's that the wheels call for and having rubbing issues.

you will not have any issues with the 225 40 18's if the car is not lowered ... honestly .. even with a milder drop (hfp or h-tech) it will have no issues ... its just that the drop is so much and with the 18s .. you get a slight rub occasionally

go with the 225s ... tires are more plentiful in that size and cheaper as well

I was thinking the same about the tires being more plentyful. Thanks for the info. If you don't mind my asking, how much did you pay for the HFP lip kit, and where did you get it? Again the car looks great!
