brake cooling ducts

so i was driving one of my favorite back roads the other day, and was getting really annoyed at my brake fade problem. we all know about it, and dont have many options on how to reduce/eliminate it. i saw 604_ep3s diy on insulating the brake hard lines, and decided to do this (haven't executed yet), and was thinking what else i could do. so i came up with the idea for air ducts. my plan is to run some kind of flezible hose, maybe dryer hose or something similar, from where my fogs would go, around the backside of my wheel, and attatch it to my calipers from the inside of the wheel. my question: has anyone done this? hopefully i can get started on it this weekend. give me some feedback guys

Si is supposed to have a backing plate designed to flow air into the rotor. I cut mine off on the Integra to get better cooling for the fronts.

Ok we have been experienceing brake fade on the SI. So we called honda and the mentioned that this was a normal thing. Sorry but we did not like that and since then set out to solve this problem. The fading of the brakes only occurs when driving HARD or for an extended period of time and we also noticed that once the Temp. was warmer outside the more the brake fade was evident.

So looking at the way the lines are designed the run to the rear of the engine bay and also in relation to the Header is quite close. This is one of the contributions that will cause brake failure as fluid / lines will get hot. Can you imagine driving and then your brakes start to fade.

Well since we experienced this at high speeds it was a bit unsettling as a result led us to our newest product. These are Stainless Steel Braided Brake lines designed to run from the Master to the ABS System. we aslo re-routed the lines to the front of the car so that they can be cooled by the air flowing into the engine compartment.

The result is an improved Brake pedal feel as well as responsiveness of the the car under braking. we have been testing these new lines for the past few months and 125% pleased with the way the function. This has been the best mode we have come across for the braking system of this car.

it think it sounds like a good DIY. Someone should look at the Acura Intergras DC5 brake ducts and try to make them for our car out of Home Depot supplies...

what do you think the JDM brake ducts are made of, nothing but plastic? And it would help with brake fade if you put some ingenuity in the parts u pick up from HomeDepot, it would be alomst just like the $115 you spend for the real ones just a lot cheaper. Also i have seen the cardboard turbo its at $36 right now im the high bidder :)
