which suspension?

alright, well my tax refund is coming in less then two weeks and don't what suspension i should get. the choices are as follows: tein ss coilovers, b&g coilovers, hfp suspension, or any other suggestions. my limit would be in the 1200 range. i know that the hfp suspension isn't adjustable, being able to keep that part of my warranty is always a plus . if a mod could please put a poll :)

well that really isn't a big deal because i know the hfp is non-adjustable while the coilovers are adjustable. basically i want to know if people could point out the pros and cons of each and their preference and reason. also personal experience

I'm on TEIN SS at the moment...

I find an instant improvement on cornering and bends striaght away..

Though I also feel the hardness, the comfort level did not really drop to what I expected...

In short, it really give improved handling yet did not compromised on comfort too much...

Good enough for normal street use and allow you to have some fun at bends...

i have the hfp kit on my asm. it is a world of difference compared to stock. it is a little more stiffer as well. bumps that would feel that bad with stock set up are definitely more noticable with the hfp kit. i also wanted a mild drop something that would not interfere with my daily driving i.e. speedbumps. i always hated driving at a angle to approach them with this kit i don't have to. plus its honda so i know its got a good rep. don't get me wrong there are other good products out it just boils down to what you want and how much you want to drop for money

Tein SS coilovers on my ride and I love the setup. It's obviously more stiff than stock, but the ride is still quite comfortable, a whole lot better than my old GSR on springs felt. Handling is awesome and damn it sure looks good to boot. You can slam it if you want or keep a good amount of space in there to reduce the possibility of rubbing. It ended up tucking in real nice on my setup. I highly recommend them.

i see ppl really like their tein SS setups, but on your HFP suspension did the dealer install? i can find the HFP for around 550-600 shipped on ebay but i know stealership labor is a bitch and thats why it is in the same range of the coilovers due to the install.

No one here seems to have the Tein Basics. Adjustable ride height minus adjustable damping, but saves some money if you don't need that extra fine tuning. Anyone care to comment on the basics?

Did you notice less body roll when you installed the HFP suspension? Have you done any other suspension mods? I would like to eliminate some of the body roll but at the same time don't want a rough riding car that is going to beat me up.

Tein Basics are a great entry level coilover set-up. Firmer feel than stock, yet still maintains excellent ride quality(actually better than stock), significant improvement in handling, cornering, etc. I'm lowered about 1 inch right now, and to me, it's not quite enough. Nice to have the option the lower more, if I want too. No regrets with the Basics.

I'm on the same boat as you. Tax return is coming... and I'm planning to slam my car.

Another option could be Megan Racing coilovers. It comes with the front pillow ball upper mount, but you still need a rear camber kit. You can pick up a set from ebay for $900 shipped. Look it up on the forum, you can read up on its review by our fellow 8thgen-ers.
